I'm not sure if these things are for real. My kid somehow latched into watching them, and I want to wretch every time they're watched. He's apparently rich (probably through family wealth) and he does these cringeworthy videos posted to YouTube. To be fair, they have extremely high production values, but the scripts are horrid, the characters one dimensional, and the acting generally bad. He claims to be changing lives, but they read like modern after school specials. They also use ominous "bad guy" music to try to indicate that someone is somehow evil or needs to learn some lesson.

Here are a few critical takes on his stuff.

The only way we watch Dhar Mann videos are through Charlie White's (Penguinz0) videos. Love his hilarious sarcastic commentary on them. So in that way, at least they're entertaining.

I could not imagine watching these kinds of things and taking them seriously. The acting is terrible and the storylines are so unbelievable!

I've been trying to get my kid to stop watching them because they're really bizarre and unrealistic. The weirdest one seemed to be about someone going to work at a marketing division, brought in to bring a social media presence to the company, but told by an older woman (who seems to be in many of these videos) that her experience is better than what new blood would bring in. And she keeps on saying that they will continue marketing through newspaper ads (which aren't very effective these days) and repeatedly states "old is gold" as her mantra on how to run the business. That's just really weird.

Is it clear to your kid that they are bizarre and unrealistic? If he/she understand that it is not how real life works (and learns that newspaper ads are worthless for marketing purposes nowadays), I do not see the harm.

There are tons of weird and bizarre entertainment on youtube, but as long as no one gets hurt in anyway, why care? There are people who love Dr. Pimplepoppper or ear wax removal videos. Some cannot stand it.

I have no idea who this person on youtube is.

No idea why I watch these sometimes but they really are cringeworthy. Every single videos includes the phrase “So you see…” There are a few other people that have videos like this on Facebook too but his are definitely the worse.

Yeah. Also watching the parody videos plus others watching and ridiculing them. But it's sort of like those things that I could never stand because they were so cringeworthy, like Oscars song and dance routines. Even when being ridiculed, the vapid message and the shallowness of the characters is absolutely nauseating. All that is on top of the generally poor, yet over the top acting.

Also some of the guest stars are odd choices, like this one YouTube personality was brought in to teach an anti bullying message, although the material I've seen of her shows her pretty much bullying others. I don't get how some people are held out as some sort of example.

And some of the messages I see show people doing things that could be extremely dangerous, such as confronting others.

Plus all the warmed over cliches and one-dimensional characters. And somehow that the "good guy" always ends up on top..
