Anyone else creeped out by Dr. Rey on Dr. 90210?

I think he's good at what he does, but need to calm down and relax. He has that "I grew up poor and I ain't goin' bac") mentality...which is fine. But when it drives you to constantly work so your life is never less than perfect, it can drive you mad. I don't know how his wife deal with him.

That whole family creeps me out, both the husband & the wife. They're so sad as a couple & are each so self-deluded.

I find it admirable that he's so passionate about his work. I live with a work-a-holic DH who is gone M-F, so I can sympathize with Haley feeling like she's raising the kids on her own. I do think Haley's mom butts in too much when it's not her place, and Haley takes her mom's side over Robert, which I disagree with. But then again, it's reality TV & it's edited - we really have no idea what truly goes on between them. They twist it into drama for ratings!

I haven't seen him on 90210, but I must agree that he is creepy.

He's a great surgeon, no doubt about it, but I think he lost a bit of respect when he started hawking those Spanx-type things on HSN. I saw him a few weeks ago on Chelsea Lately and he was hawking them on her show too.

He may need to take a few steps back and look closely at what he's become - sort of a character, not a physician.

What creeps me out about him is his reaction to womens bodies.

He looks at them all wide eyed like a child about to receive an ice cream cone. He makes inappropriate remaks sometimes like he wants to have sex with them. Some of these comments are in front of their husband. It is just his "I want to stick my face between your breasts" approach.

Sometimes he seems a bit inappropriate in the office. The things he says to patients are a bit too familiar.
I also think he dresses like a pimp. I really don't get his fashion style.

I don't find him creepy, just amusing. Without him the show would be super boring. He does do and say some crazy stuff and is self centered but he makes the show...and Haley needs to gain some weight.

I think Dr. Diamond is a self centered jerk. Here is his wife who just had a baby and he is off taking on a new business and skiing while he's at it...

That's an understatement. I used to like her. I never realized she came from money - but Robert hit the nail on the head last night when he said "A friend once told me never marry a rich girl because you can never give her what daddy can." Bingo! She was acting like a 3-year old last night - "You ARE buying me a 9 million dollar home and I'm moving WITH or WITHOUT you. I NEED a 9 million dolllar home and you have NO SAY in it. I MUST live by my parents. Wah wah wah!" I would never say spousal abuse is ok in any form but seriously - Robert needed to haul off & smack her last night!

The sad thing is, Robert is probably screwed either way. Either he gives in to save his marriage & family & buys her the 9 million dollar home by her parents & he gets walked all over, or he leaves & she gets it all anyway. I don't know what CA divorce law is, or if there's a pre-nup, but I'm sure she'd come out on top either way!

And again, this is all edited TV, no one knows the whole story. It could have been blown out of proportion & scripted to some point for ratings. I just know they sure showed Haley as a total spoiled brat!

Her parents live in Montreal. They are moving to Calabassas to be closer to them - after all Hayley has a horribly difficult life considering she is raising 2 whole children all by herself with no Nanny or anything.... It's an impossible task for her I guess so she needs her mommy.

Calabassas I guess is way too far from her so Hayley decided she'd just sell her brand new house and move closer to where her Mommy will be even though it will make Robert's commute to and from work longer....

It's all just pathetic. Plus when she wanted their CURRENT house Robert made it clear that he was going to have to work more - now she's complains. He also made it clear that when her mom is around he works more to avoid her and now she wanst to have her up their rear again.

Seriously - I think the man is a completely self centered doofus - but I can't blame the guy for feeling like nothing more than an ATM. His wife thinks he SHOULDN'T have ANY say in anything that happens with the kids or even where they live. It's astounding!

Well he acts the way he dresses.......and given the way he dresses, it's no wonder that he doesn't have "what it takes" to stand up to his wife AND mother-in-law. But it seems that they are like most and cannot discuss money matters in a civil manner.

I like Dr. Rey too. When Hayley was throwing her fit about how hard her raising her children is and she has no help, no nanny so she needs her mommy, my DH said "If I was Dr. Rey, I'd say 'you're right, Hayley, you do need help, but honey let's keep the $9 million and just hire a live-in nanny."

Meanwhile, they both keep talking about having a third child?

I have watched this show for a total of probably ten minutes...once he was talking about being concerned about his wife's weight. Then, I saw her a few days ago when hey were picking out cabinets. I was shocked at how thin she was.

Hayley looks like a skeleton with skin on it. I don't say that to be mean, but it is what it is.

Now Dr. Rey, he is strange, the highlights in the hair, the appearances on HSN, the karate or whatever you call it...his off the wall and uncalled for comments to patients. ODD!

On another 90210 note, did anyone see the recent episode with Dr. Moytake (however you spell it) when he posed topless with his adult film start patient?! These docs are whacko.
