Anyone else close since 11-16 and still NOT in system????

Hello,
We closed on a resale contract at OKW on the morning of 11-16 and we are still not in the system. I've read other posts of people closing 2 days before us and being in the day we closed! Just wondering if anyone has closed on or since 11-16 and if so if you are in the system yet. This wait is killing us, especially since we have banked points that need to be used ASAP and we wanted to book in January (window is closing fast). I am worried if there is a problem and for some reason they haven't received our docs or something and we don't know it our Jan window will close before we can book. Is there anyway to check if they've at least received notic of our closing?

You can call member services to see if you are in the system. You should be by now. good luck :thumbsup2
 
Normally it takes about 10 business days from closing to being fully in the system and able to make ressies. Because of the holiday, you have only been waiting 5 business days.

Things should pick up next week. I'd call daily starting on Tuesday. Don't be surprised if MS has you in the system in name only one day, but with no points in the account. The points will go in the next business day...or at least, that's what happened to us.

I'm still waiting for the sellers to return the closing docs! :furious: They obviously don't know that I'm trying to plan a January vacation!!!

I'm so glad you posted this. We closed on 11/20 and I too read where people said they were in the system in as little as 2 or 3 days. I just called and am not in the system yet. I also have points that have to be used soon and want to make a reservation for Feb.
 
Call your resale agent to see if there is a problem. We purchased a resale contract this summer. We also had trouble getting in the system and were getting close to a banking deadline. MS was no help - they asked us if we were sure it had closed, sure if it was registered correctly etc. It was a bit nerve racking when you spend all that money and Disney still doesn't know who you are within the specified timeframe.

TTS was able to call their contacts at Disney to find out what was going on. It turned out that our contract was in the process of being foreclosed on when it was sold. This complicated the transfer and ended up taking more time than normal. When Disney realized our banking deadline was approaching they rushed to finish it. They also promised us that if it didn't get in the system in time they would still allow us to bank since it was their problem. Fortunately we never had to test this. Total time to get in the system was 18 days after closing.
 
Hi All,
Just called and got the old good news - bad news routine. The good news is we are finally in the system and now have a member ID # :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: ....the bad news is our points aren't there yet but hopefully they will be in tommorrow :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: .
So for everyones info..we closed the morning of 11-16 and we are in the system without points today on 11-28 at 5:25 PM EST.

One day later and still no points in our account ...sigh. We did get a pin # for the website so I can now log on and SEE we have no points for myself..sarcastic "yippie". Liisa sorry to hear you still haven't gotten closing started. Good luck with your closing,,,hopefully your points showup quicker.

We are 100% in ... points and all. Today we made our 1st ressies, 3 actually, 1st trip home will be 1-28 to 2-2 at OKW. We can't wait!!!YEAH :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Congrats and have a wonderful first trip. Just curious - I know you were originally looking to go on Jan 14th... did you change because nothing was available? Since that is around the time I am looking to book... if the sellers would just send back the closing docs (I will stay calm... I will stay calm! :sad2: )

Yes we were originally looking at the 14th and that date was avaiable at SSR as of yesterday, but DW didn't want to go during the MLK holiday, also the following week is our daughters christening so we decided to go the last week of the month instead. Wish you the best of luck....hopefully the sellers sign sooooon.

I'm in a similar situation - received notice on 11/20 and 11/21 (2 contracts), but the (properly completed) docs were not all received from sellers until today (1 seller completed docs incorrectly so they needed to be re-done). Nancy told me we should close both today (finally!!) and then the last round of waiting begins. I have holding points I need to do something with (hopefully rent some, although they expire 03/31/07), so I'm afraid that once again the holidays will bring everything to a standstill.

My TTS rep is off this week, as is one of my reps at the closing co., so I am just grateful that others have been helpful in the meanwhile, going out of their way to get my paperwork done. Technically, my contracts have closing dates of 12/08 and 12/27, so I know it could be worse. I know this - I know a lot more now than when I started, so I'll have a lot more insight comparing direct to resale on my next add-on!

BTW, Nancy was already working on someone else's closing, so maybe that is yours - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Hopefully good news will be coming next week for you Liisa! You have a positive outlook; I don't understand why the sellers are not sending in their docs.

Here's how the timeline went for our recent resale purchase at BWV:

10/18/06 Offer submitted to Disney
10/25/06 Passed ROFR
11/17/06 Closed
11/28/06 In the system
12/01/06 Points available

This is very close to what I was told to expect when I began the process. My thanks to TSS and TCS for a smooth transaction.

The holiday really has had a big effect - it seems Thanksgiving time has become quite a vacation time. Rushing to send back docs before Thanksgiving didn't matter much as the closing co. was closed Thurs - Sun. Many places closed early on Wed as well. Both my TTS rep and one closing agent were gone all week this week, too. So, with a short week last week, people out on vacation this week and quite a flood of closings (based on postings and the ROFR thread) I'm sure most if not all hit a logjam. My guess is it was a similar situation at Disney offices where new members need to be set up and points entered.

We, too are anxiously awaiting due to points that need to be used. Fingers crossed and wishes for patience for all of us still waiting :rolleyes1 :wave2: :rolleyes1
 
I submitted documents on the Tuesday before Turkey Day and the sale closed on Wednesday, 11/29. Thanks to TTS and Nancy (sitting in for Brenda) at TCS. I haven't checked yet to see if I'm in the system.
