Anyone else bummed that the FD offer stops on 9/29/11

Yes, someone forgot to check their Jewish calendar. September 29 is Rosh Hashanah. No travel on that date.

I am....I wanted it in October so we wouldn't miss the 2011 Food and Wine Festival :(

Yes, but September 29th is a Thursday....I hate checking in mid week and my husbands job only allows 5 consecutive days off....so then he'd have to go back to work mid week the following week too. Would be nice if they let him have off 7 days....then we could check in on that Thursday and check out the following Saturday :) and we'd probably get F&W Festival then.

I am thinking about booking a trip tommorow with the free dining so if something happens and we don't go on the Dream in May I will have something in October. I am betting that my kid's fall break will be the first week of October as it is this year. So I would just pull them out of school two days early and arrive on the 29th the take advantage of the free dining the whole next week. Now if their fall break falls later, well it would probably be a no go.

we are planning a trip in Nov. 2011. I was really hoping they would extend it like they did the past 2 years.

That's our situation too.

My situation is the exact same. I wonder if we work at the same place? I would check in on Thurdsay and have to go back to work on the following Thursday or (Friday, if I wanted to take a day hit on my attendance.)

We were planning on going down on 9/30/11. Since free dining ends 9/29/11 we are just going to come down really late on 9/29/11 after work. It's paying for an extra night in the hotel, but worth it for the following 9 days of free food!

Yes, I'm already looking at Fall Break in October 2011, which isn't til about Oct. 9. Although with this year's blackout dates I'm not hopeful of Free Dining. I suppose I will have to keep my eyes on how the trend is, whether WDW is up or down on guests/revenue.

I suppose we should be grateful they are releasing everything earlier, even if it doesn't apply directly to us!

Disney's fical year ends on 9/30 every year. My guess is that they will keep discounts and promos within the fiscal year for a while before they release any for 10/01/11 and beyond.

That said, ya just never know with Disney. I'm suprised they opened up an entire year of selected dates all at once to the general public, but all of the current dates offered fall into some off times for the resorts. No really poplular dates or peak times are discounted (yet). Not to mention that the rack rates for FD have gone up considerably at some resorts with all the new categories and pricing seasons.

i was kinda bummed initially coz i would have loved to be there for halloween next year. but, im happy with the dates i chose: september 26 - october 7th :goodvibes :goodvibes
