Anyone Else Annoyed with the New Trip Planning DVD???

I fell asleep the first time we watched it, so I watched it again the other day. DH was sad that it didn't have Krissa as the host. :confused3

Anyway, I didn't care for it. But I was wondering if any of you noticed that when they talk about the Plus Options that it includes admission to the water parks, DQ, PI, "AND MORE". What more? There IS no "more". It says that on two different places in the DVD. "And more!" How can there be more? Just wondered if anyone else noticed.

Very annoying. I haven't even been able to watch the whole thing through once. It reminds me of Krissa or Krista or whatever her name is with the 7 best attractions that they play in the hotel. Which I HATE!

The only thing I can think of is the Wide World of Sports complex, which was a plus option a few years back. I don't know if it still is, though.

I posted on this thread or one of the similar ones that I was not overly impressed by planning DVD but wanted to let my 17 year old daughter take a look and get her impression. So I told her about the DVD and the action/thrill ride guy and she said let me see him. So we looked at just the thrill section. After a minute or two of listening/watching thrill guy my daughter started laughing and said nobody she knows talks or acts like that. She said it was like a train wreck, she couldn't stop watching.

Did pick up another new expression to go along with "hurl factor" - that would be "nasty sweet" as in "Mission:Space is one nasty sweet ride, dudes".

Got to go, got one "nasty sweet" ride on the elevator out of here.

Don't mean to vent, but just wondering if anyone else felt the same way...

I'll probably be too darned happy to be annoyed if it ever actually gets here. Grrrrrr I requested one on the website on Jan 2nd and got *last years. Grrrrr I called last week and requested *this years. Now the mailbox watch is on again.

we didn't care for the new dvd at all. too fast and hyper for us and not enough video of the rides or the resorts. :sad2:

:cool1: They always seem a little "corny", but I was glad to see some new material. I find it a great distraction when I'm on my treadmill!! :goodvibes

LOL Wouldn't you know it. I posted that and about an hour later the kids checked the mail and it was there. I thought they were teasing me when they told me it came. I was prepared to hate it after reading so many negative things about it but I liked it. Erin is a bit too perky for me but other than that I didn't really have a problem with it. Maybe it's because I haven't been in so long that 99 percent of what is there is new but I really enjoyed seeing more about some of the things like Disney Quest and other things that aren't in the parks themselves and my kids felt like this one gave them a better idea of what some of the rides are like than the 3 or 4 previous ones we've gotten. I particularly like Dave, the relaxation guy. My kids are afraid that I'm going to want to check out every one of those benches now. <g>

The only thing I liked was that they did change it from past years. But it was way too annoying and fast paced. My DS 15 and DD 12 even thought so.

I thought it better than previous ones and so did kids. Kids have watched it several times in past couple weeks preparing for our trip at Easter. It seemed better at keeping your attention.

We're in the minority too. We have been avid Disney Vacation Planning video watchers for years. This was a new and refreshing approach. Corny - yes but entertaining.

That said, I can see if you were planning a first time trip to the World, this video may not have enough information. Or, you may be overwhelmed with the fast pace.

My DH thought the guy who did nothing but find benches all day was pretty good. This being my DH's favorite sport. :cool1: I also thought it was a little fast paced and would have liked it to be slowed down but I agree it is free and gives me yet another thing to focus on to dwindle away the time to my next visit.

I don't think the DVD is intended to give you all of the information you need--hence the CD-Rom. I know the CD basically only links to the webpages, but WDW has vastly improved and expanded its website, and this provides a way to access all of that information in an organized way. I think it's a much more organized presentation of information than in the prior years' videos.

I thought it was OK. Disney is trying to appeal to different types of people with different vacation needs, so I think they accomplished that. Personally I much prefer "real" people over these actors who try to hard. They just come across as annoying.

I found it kind of annoying as well, and there wasn't much information on it either, I was going to have my H2B watch it and get psyched for the trip but I think if he watched it, he'd just get annoyed and want to turn it off. I wish they showed more about resorts individually on it as well, so I could get a feel for how ours and others are.

I guess I'll just rely on the Travel Channel shows to get psyched...does anyone know when some will be on?

I wasn't crazy about it either - even if it was free!

In the beginning scene with host Erin, I swear she had a white strap (for her bra, I guess) sticking out. and it bugged me

ShellyShellfish - The absolute BEST show about taking a trip to WDW will be on the Travel Channel March 15th at 5:00 pm eastern!!!! :p :teeth:
