Anyone Else Annoyed with the New Trip Planning DVD???

Also, I posted this on the community board but no one replied, the music used early on with "relaxation/recreation guy" is the same as the "Enzyte" commercial--guess relaxation/recreation guy has a "whole new swing of confidence" and "a happy partner back at the clubhouse. . ."

The DVD part was pretty bad although my DS4 loves it. My main issue is with the cd-rom. When you click on an attraction it opens up a browser window and it simply takes you to the web site, not particularly innovative. My DD16 thought the adventursome guy was trying to hard to be a surfer dude.

We're just glad the "granny-ma won" clip from Buzz Lightyear isn't in it anymore!!! Every year a new video comes out and every year "granny-ma" is still in it!

We enjoyed the video. It was nice to see such a change.

Or the super high pitched girl who was probably granny-ma's next door neighbor exclaiming "I was screeeeeemen"

As I've said on the other threads, I really thought the production of this DVD and CD-Rom were MUCH higher than prior versions. Yeah, there are a lot of quick cuts, but I found it much more watchable and coherent than prior year videos.

I don't really understand the criticism about the resort coverage---this year had a separate (short) piece on every resort---my recollection is before they just did a bit on each grouping---deluxe, moderate, value.

It's true the CD-Rom mostly just links to the website, but they've done a lot to upgrade their website and so they should be directing folks there--plus the website, theoretically at least, can be updated on an ongoing fashion.

Of course I enjoyed watching the DVD - always like watching anything Disney.

But I did start to feel sick - I had to look away at one point because of the way the camera was moving.

I couldn't get the special features on the DVD to work. Everytime I clicked for more info on the resorts it brought me right back to the beginning of the DVD with Erin. Is my DVD defective?

I felt the same way about the CD-rom bringing me to the website - I felt disappointed.

I would love for disney to come out with an extensive resort DVD. I'd even pay for it.

I disliked it intensely. Give me the corny families with their tears of joy about being at Disney with their loved ones any day like in the old videos.

I thought the DVD lacked pixie dust, i did not get that magic feeling...I felt like I was watching the channel at the resorts that show you the attractions at the parks over and over again.....i like to get goose bumps and for me this DVD just did not do that.

Not impressed. Most of the hosts are phony. If you knew those people in real life, you wouldn't associate with them.

i didnt think they showed eougnh of the resorts last years let you check every resort with lots of pictures

Well of course the deluxe resorts are going to be covered more, they are sooo much better than those yucky crowded, low-rent, loud, value resorts.

I got the new planning DVD since we always loved the videos they would send out back in the day. While none of us really enjoyed the format of it, just to get excited about the trip it is just the fix we need. However... we still have the old video from when AK just opened and watch that every now and then just for kicks!

My family did not like the new DVD at all. We watched it once and thought it was very annoying. I have two teenage daughters, and they didn't think it was very magical like the older Disney videos.

O.K. Just got the planning video yest. I really havent watched it yet as I am not feeling well, but the ds have. We have been to disney ever year for at least the last 10. Lately we have been at the swan instead of poly. I just kept saying to ds, be careful with any papers in there, let me see them etc. I was hoping that there would possibly be a postcard as another diser got, but nothing, oh well, my kids are having fun watching the dvd and I am glad I still have my swan reservation because it looks like ap codes will be grabbed up by the few and lucky when they come out.

Ok, yes, I'm new and have never been to Disneyworld, but I liked the DVD. Last year when I requested more information they sent me the "magical gatherings" video and I really disliked it. I'm not going with a big group, and I got sick of being told what a great idea it was to do that! I really enjoyed the "mom" host on the new one--since I've never been there, I paid a lot of attention to what she said and specifically wrote down all the suggestions she gave in her "special feature" segment.

The relaxation guy made me chuckle, and the "surfer dude", though a little over the top, made me smile, also. I did want desperately to cut the kid's hair, though! I watched it with DS3, and I told him that if he ever let his hair look that shaggy I would take the scissors to him myself. Being only 3, his response was, "Scissors? Where's the scissors? Can I have 'em?"

This one had more on the resorts than the magical gatherings video, so although each part was short, it was nice to see them all featured at least a little.

I've posted replies on 2 other threads - I don't like this DVD! It made me jumpy and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Every year that there is a new DVD, I order it and can't wait to watch it - a few times - but this one I don't think I will be watching, although now that I think about it, the new one has actual footage of SSR where we will be staying at in November. So I probably will just choose to view our resort if I watch it again. Sorry folks, I just didn't get the warm fuzzies from this DVD.

Hated it!! I found it to be very annoying. All the people were just way over the top. I watched it one time and I don't think I'll watch it again. If I need a Disney fix, I'll just watch the one from last year.
