Anyone Else Agree?

i agree, he died and now people are going on about who should get the kids and all kinds of stuff about the family. Its like, just leave them alone.

I don't see a contradiction. Walter Cronkite, to me, is way more worthy of praise than MJ. I know that MJ was an international superstar, but WC was the king of reporting. He brought us the moon landing, WWII bombings, the Nuremburg Trials, JFK's assasination, Vietnam. He was the Beatle's first broadcast in America.

MJ brought us music, but so do a lot of other people. I dunno. To me, music doesn't hold precedence over the news and the world around us.

Also, I think that's an exaggeration. ;)
I disagree with you. Michael made it so race was not an issue in music. He opened people's eyes to the suffering around the globe. I would say that he was more than just a musician he opened a lot of doors for African American singers during his time.
I don't think that news hold precedence over music, because you can never know if the news is telling the truth, whereas music reveals what is in your heart of hearts.

::yes::

That's how I feel about anyone who does that to anybody.

I was sad about ANS because of her new baby. I felt sad that her little girl would grow up hearing stories about her mother instead of getting to know her personally.
Of course it was tragic that she left a baby girl behind, and I was glad that she was given to someone who will take care of her, that is all I wish for Michael's children and that they are happy.

I think that they should leave them alone when it comes to the negative media attention.

music isn't so black and white, either.

And really, I think that he was a follow in the african-american singing world. I mean, there were so many greats who came before him. They're the ones who opened the doors. He just walked in. Diana Ross, BB King, Ella Fitzgerald. To me, Michael followed them. He didn't lead that.

Music only gets you so much knowledge. Yes, Michael did do a lot for global suffering, particularly in Africa, but that was really it.

I dunno. To me, they're not even comparable. So I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Ok I agree to disagree. :thumbsup2

Lol, I wouldn't exactly agree with you... at all as a matter of fact. ;)
But that is just because he meant a great deal to me, and I am glad people are keeping his memory alive.
He was a great man, musician, humanitarian, dancer, father, etc. He made a huge impact on the music industry, as he was the "King of Pop."
I don't think obsessed is the word I would use to describe it. I would say grieving and remembering, are a better fit. :thumbsup2:
He meant a lot to people, whether you like it or not.

hey don't get all huffy. we have this thing called freedom of speech and that was my view and that is yours i think you are right but let the man rest in peace

I am not being huffy at all! Sorry if it came out that way! I was just expressing my opinion, as I do realize that we have freedom of speech. Of course I think I am right, but I can respectfully listen to others. :thumbsup2
I wish more than anything that he rest in peace, but I do not mind seeing media coverage of his that is in a positive light.

Sorry if I came off as huffy! It certainly wasn't intended!

Michael Jackson's death was shocking, yes.

That doesn't mean I still want to be hearing about it weeks later. I mean, seriously, TV Guide is still playing show after show about his life.

Walter Cronkite deserves something like that. I mean, really, he impacted the world waaaaay more than MJ. Fewer people may have know about him, but I think his impact was greater.

i agree let the man rest in peace
