This has become a dangerous addiction for me. I can't seem to stop reading all the wonderful posts on this board. I haven't even confirmed that I am going to Disney World yet and already I'm spending several hours a day here. It is starting to affect my work performance!

Welcome to the board!

I am the same way. But you know, there is so much to do, I would hate to get to WDW and go "Oh, dang! I wish I had known about that!"

Plus it makes it so much more real :)

We just decided on our dates but I was lurking here for a week before I joined. I have gotten so much good info and tips. I seriously don't know how people just wing it without a plan :confused3

Good luck when you start planning, the hardest part is deciding what not to do...

I've been on the board for about six months and I go to it daily. It is very additive. One night I fell asleep before my DS (16) and he came in to wake me up, asking me where the heating pad was. I told him that I didn't know he should look on the "DISboard" because it was on there somewhere!:rotfl2: Now that's a serious addition!

Just to let you know, the addiction doesn't get better!! The more you go to WDW the more you want to think about the next time. :thumbsup2 I just keep telling myself that it's free to dream

You are not alone! Our family is leaving for Disney World in 15 days, and for the past 4 or 5 months, I have been on here every day! Sometimes for hours! It is very addicting! But, I have also found out some very interesting information and tips! I am thankful for all the good ones I have found! I especially like the money saving tips! Enjoy the boards!!! :cool1:

You're not alone. I have to curb how much I talk about my next trip (close to a year away) even to the people going with me. They are starting to rool their eyes at me!

I think I'm addicted to the board as well. We just got back from our trip May 9, and I think I've spent a good 2 hours a day reading everything I can!!!
I just wish I knew about it before our trip!! I already have almost everything planned for our next trip - and that won't be until next May!!

Welcome to the DIS :welcome:

The board is very addicting.

When I first joined I only visited the resort thread and the trip report thread. You definitely learn a lot of things from the DIS. We are planning trip #3. :thumbsup2

Wait until you venture onto the community board. :Pinkbounc

Yes!!! It's as addicting as Disney World itself!! My 7 year old son, loves to help me change/update my signature and he likes to check my signature to see "how much longer until our next trip" ;)

Everyone on here is so nice and so willing to share their experiences and plus it's nice to have "friends" who can identify with you and your "obession"/love for Disney!!

You know you've got a problem when you wake up in the middle of the night, jonesin' for the DIS Boards. And you keep telling your friends and family the same thing. "I don't have a problem. Really. I can stop when ever I want to." But you know deep down that you can't. Just one more post before you go to bed. But that one post becomes five. And those five posts become ten. And before you know it, it is midnight and you need to wake up in five hours to get ready for work. You spend so much time on the boards, that your dog doesn't even recognize you any more. Your skin is as pale as an onion because you haven't seen the light of day for 2 weeks. When you reach that point, then you may want to think about backing off a bit. (Not that I would know from experience or anything. :rolleyes1 )

I am so glad I am not the only one who stays on here for hours...I am so addicted to checking this site...I cant wait to use rt

please excuse my four year old is fighting me over the computer..but really I can't wait to use all the great info I have found here..thanks to you all :wizard:

I live in fear of my boss catching me reading the DISboards instead of working.

Well, maybe I'm not THAT bad, but almost! The thing is that everyone here is so darn helpful. I come across new ideas and important tid bits of info every day.

Thanks to all of you!

haha! It's nice to know I am not the only one addicted to this board! I will be in Disney 2 weeks from today, and reading the boards everyday adds to the pretrip excitement!!!!

Hello...my name is Thelionqueen and I am a DISboards addict. I've been clean now for 2 seconds :lmao:

I agree with everyone's comments on this "addiction" and what I have found is the worst is when you are trying to explain to family and friends, who don't share the "need for a DIS fix", how enjoyable it is and how easy it is to lose a good chunk of your day just checking to see...oh I don't know...who has made what ADRs and when and WHY...any new rants about pool hopping...did so and so get that itinerary good and fixed?... For me, it feels like a little Disney vacation every time I log on and I haven't even BEEN to WDW yet. I guess we could be addicted to a lot worse, but I just wish I could justify more easily why, at 6 o'clock supper time, I finally look at the clock and announce "kids, we're eating out tonight AGAIN!"
Maybe there's a psychologist on the boards who could give us a little analysis ?

I too am part of this group! This is only post 100 for me and I have been on about 10 months. But boy do I ever read the threads! I think I read more than I write, but I sure do enjoy it.

If you have to be addicted to something, I'd say this is a pretty good one. But these boards make me want to visit WDW even more. I started browsing last summer while planning my September 2005 trip. I enjoyed the planning and the trip so much more because of these boards. But when my DH and I took our vacation in Fort Myers Beach last month I just couldn't resist squeezing in two days at WDW before we came home. Just reading all the posts makes you long for another trip to see the mouse. But in between I just enjoy hearing about other people's great trips.

It's nice to know I'm not the only Disney/Disboard addict. I work part-time some mornings I go on the dis after putting the kids on the bus, and rush to get ready for work. And then when I come from work I'll go on for a little while, and later on at night I will go on again. I may have to go cold turkey so I can get my housework done!!
