Does anyone else have to always have some with them or they panic?
Yesterday, my family took me to work and i couldn't find my Carmex. It wasn't in my purse or my pocket. I told DH he had to go buy me some and bring it to me after they dropped me off! I could feel my lips starting to dry up already. I did then find it in my pocket, but it was a bad feeling for a little bit. I even have DD7 getting addicted. We tell DD12 and DH that "our lips are going to fall off" without it.
Do you think there is a 12 step program for us?? :teeth:

:rotfl2:
I am addicted to all lip balms including, chapstick, carmex, blistex, and softlips. I have one in my purse, backpack, makeup pouch, bedside table, and usually somewhere else in the house.
12 step program... :rotfl:

My wife's addicted to chap stick, but it's Carmex all the way for me! Not addicted, but it's the best!

That sweet tingley feeling when you put it on is sometimes better than sex :teeth:

From what I am thinking I have heard, it actually is a type of physical addition. When you use something like that 24/7, your lips natural ability to moisturize them selves just shuts down, and they do not create the natural oils or compounds that they should.

It's Blistex in the little blue pot for me!!! I had to go on a plane the other day and could not bring it with me - those were the longest 2 hours of my life!!!

:rotfl2: I gotta say--I love the stuff!!!

I've been addicted to it since my 16 year old was in the womb! I wish I could quit using it too, because it's a PITA when I don't have my purse with me, like at a theme park, for instance.

I don't go anywhere without some sort of lip balm. Chapstick usually, though.

When I first scanned this title, I thought it read "Anyone else addicted to Carmax? " I thought, wow, now thats some power shopping. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Yes, I became addicted back in HS when I started kissing boys. :rotfl: It used to be Carmex, but now it's Natural Ice and they are strategically placed all over the house so that they are within reach wherever I am. Not being able to find one is the only thing that really sends me into a panic attack. :teeth:

I started out hitting the mild stuff. Chapstick. When it didn't do it for me anymore, I starting hitting the white stuff. Blistex.

Finally, my lips were just soaking the stuff in and it wasn't working any longer. That's when I found the pot. THE pot. Not pot.

I've been an addict ever since. :guilty:

Carmex contains menthol and camphor, and salicylic acid (used in acne treatments) all of which are very drying to your lips, so once the wax and cocoa butter wears off, you are left with dry lips, which leads you to put on more, and when it wears off, you are left with drier lips, which leads you to put on more... get it!!

Carmex is by far the worst thing you could ever put on your lips and was originally designed for drying out cold sores, not for chapped lips. I mean it says it right there in bold on top of the pot! For Cold Sores!

I live one town over from where they make the stuff.

I used to use it, but I've moved on to new balms. I am pretty picky since so many do dry my lips out.

When I started dating my now DH back in highschool, he had a cat that was addicted to carmex- it was like extreme catnip to her! He would rub a little on the carpet and she would rub her face across it and roll all around it, drooling happily away lol :rotfl:

I'm so glad I'm not alone in my addiction!
That tingly feeling is the best! I know that all is well with me then! Heaven forbid that I wears pants or shorts with out a pocket. Even DH knows to buy me clothes with pockets! :rotfl2: I need somewhere for my tube!!!!
