good luck to your son :woohoo: , once he has a taste of freedom , he won't be staying at home!

I know how you feel Paul. Our youngest has just started Aberdeen College, but he doesn't have to stay on site. So he's commuting during the week back and forward. He only goes for 3 days - Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We're the same - making sure he has train/bus pass as it does help.
Your wife may get used to him being away and enjoy the peace and quiet - I would !!

A few things that he might need that i forgot to bring with me, tea towels (had never actually had to wash up before!!!) also a good tip is to only take 1 fork, spoon, bowl, plate etc... and that way the washing-up will never pile up! Also things that you think just appear such as bleach for the toilet, washing-up liquid etc... before uni i never realised where this stuff come from it was always just there!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Hope he has fun and remembers to enjoy it, the time goes so fast...

the house feels empty when they first go, then you get used to it!! and then all the dirty washing starts coming home with them when they come to visit!!
its a great experience and helps them to become more independent, well thats the theory anyway. my ds goes back again at the end of sept to glamorgan university.
good luck to your son
