DH asked me to look into this one specifically because it has a buffet that doesn't involve characters. He isn't interested in Boma at all after reading the menu. We're looking at something in addition to or in place of our ADR at Kona. He can't make up his mind.

Sorry for all the posts, and TIA for all opinions/experiences.

I have been going to the Captain's Grille for breakfast since 1998 when it was The Galley. Missed it when it was closed for awhile.

It is the best place for breakfast. Though they are a buffet, if you want your eggs over easy they give it to you as part of the buffet. They are the only buffet I have ever gone to that allows you to get what you want even if it is not on the buffet.

MUST GO!!!!

Enjoy...food is amazing!!

We ate there years ago when it was the galley and it was buffet or order from the menu. It was good then, very quiet.

I must say Boma was one of the best breakfasts we've ever had at WDW! They do have all the normal breakfast items (waffles, omlettes etc... ) and then they have the interesting dishes as well. I loved the banana bread and the eggs with goat cheese. My kids loved the chocolate croissonts. We all loved the frunch juice. Then afterward we toured the resort, looked at the animals, sat on the veranda etc... really good time. Then we hopped a bus to Epcot.

We ate at CG last September. Buffet was fine and had a pretty decent selection, and as mentioned about eggs to order before my stepdad is an omelet kind of guy. The waitress said no problem and took his order for an omelet with maybe 4 or 5 ingredients and just included it on his buffet. I think the only bummer was that I couldn't get skim milk, they only offered me whole or 2%. I can tolerate 2% even if it's not my favorite.

I also agree that the breakfast at Boma is wonderful. My only concern with CG is that unless you have a car or are staying at one of the Epcot-area resorts, the logistics for getting there are poor.

Since you are looking to replace a Kona breakfast, why not just take the monorail over to the Contemporary? The Wave has a non-character breakfast that offers both a buffet and an a la carte menu. I've never eaten there since they started this option but it gets good reviews.

 My apologies! I wasn't aware there was a similar thread already going. Sometimes there are so many threads per day it gets hard to keep up!

Thanks all for opinions, and I will go check out the other post. :flower3:

No apologies needed..hope it helped! :)

We're going there in June - I've asked that same question here and EVERYONE said it was very tasty for breakfast!!

and I even received recommendations for lunch and dinner!!

I cant wait to go there!!

:cheer2:

I was wondering about this also. I was thinking just take the bus to EPCOT and then the boat to Yacht Club. Is there an easier way from POFQ?

The other thread did help a lot, Aras! Appreciate the link. :worship:

I agree with the PP about Boma. That was our favorite breakfast, so much so that we went back again towards the end of our trip. They definitely have all of the customary breakfast items, eggs, bacon, muffins, etc. If you are looking for another option that has a buffet, I would suggest The Wave. It was very good as well. We will be going back there in August too.

You would have to take a bus to DHS then the boat to YC The boat is....not fast... but for me the walk is a little too far and my feet are always sore at WDW!. Or a bus to MK or AK (only that's way way way too far out of the way) and then another bus to YC.

If you take the bus to Epcot you have to use an Epcot park admission, hike all the way through FW and around part of WS, exit at the International Gateway, and then walk to YC. And that won't work at all if you want breakfast before Epcot opens.

Ahhh so I had it completely wrong. Glad I decided to ask since we're going on a non-park day. Any idea how much time I should give ourselves to get there, ballpark?
