We are leaving in 7 days and still not sure of a few ADR's. I have Biergarten booked for lunch on our next to the last day, and have read many reviews, both good and bad.

So if anyone out there has some recent review, it would be much appreciated, or if you have another suggestion. The lunch price is around $32 and we have a party of 4. We definitely would like it to be a new experience. The only places we usually eat are Via Napolli and LeCellier (skipping this one)

This trip we are eating once at Via Napolli for lunch on another day, and Garden Grill for breakfast.

We went in March and it was pretty good. I would hit the salads and desserts harder next time. Our girls 7 and 3 loved the hot dogs and the show and wanted to go when we're there in December. We had a single person seated with us and it was just fine. Plus the litre of beer is fun. If you haven't tried it, go for it!

I actively dislike German food and I LOVE Biergarten. We try to hit it every trip.
Ditto for DH. Have it booked for eat to beat for lunch (price only, never tried it before)

Do you love the atmosphere or is there something on menu that works for you?

Both. The atmosphere and entertainment are spot on. I dream about the meatballs and spaetzle. The chicken schnitzel, sausages...all sooooo good! They have pretzel rolls and cheddar cheese soup too.

Thanks. If they had chicken at lunch he wouldn't starve with the rolls.

I've read that it's not always on the luncheon menu. Not sure if that is true or not.

Thanks for all the replys. We have Shula's that evening, and have a 1pm lunch reservation there and wanted to experience it for the first time since we are not sure we will be back anytime soon.

We use to love it, but not so much as of our last visit.(Memorial Day weekend) I have to say the atmosphere is wonderful as well as the "show", and its so beautiful inside. With that all said.. The food last time was really lacking, in overall taste. We did find a few items that we felt were as good as we remembered, the warm German potato salad was really good, DH like the pot roast and the brats were good. But normally most of the salad offering are really well done our last trip they were blah... the biggest disappointment came with the apple strudel being without really any apples... really hardly no apples and they tasted like were canned, and the vanilla sauce tasted like they opened a jar. Normally we leave room so we can enjoy a piece or two. My grandmother is 100% German so growing up with real German food might make me a bit picky about it. But always in the past we enjoyed it. For right now we are on hold for going back. Hopefully this was just a bad night and next time will be great. I will say the offerings are on the heavier side, so I would take this into consideration if you have a big meal planned for dinner time.

We just ate supper at Biergarten on Tuesday. The food was excellent, and I especially enjoyed the beets and sauerkraut. Roast beef was super moist and tasty. Sausages were yummy. And oh, the dumplings! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Be prepared to share a table with other parties. The dining room is very loud, but it's so pretty there and really quite a unique experience. We loved it. Enjoy!

Perfect timing for lunch. I just looked at wdwent.com and the band will start at 1:15 so that will give you enough time to be seated, order your drinks, get your first plate and be back at the table to enjoy a full performance of the band.

I am not a heavy meat lover myself but husband loves all that stuff. Somehow, we seem to both manage to leave the restaurant saying we ate waaaaaayyyyyyy too much. Unless you eat three full size meals a day, you might regret your reservation at Shula's that same night.

Oh . . . . . I clicked on the thread because the title made me think there might have been some sort of tragic accident.

I love the Biergarten, and like another poster I have actually dreamed of the food there. I can make a meal just out of the salads and pretzel bread, but love the spaetzel and pork too. My great aunt, who was more of a grandmother to me, was German and when I visit here it's like eating the very same things she cooked and it's very good memories for me. We usually do lunch here. It is so beautiful inside and over the years we have made some friends that we still talk to. ENJOY!

NOTE: Seating is on long beer-hall tables, so other families will be seated with you. Though WDW likes to Americanize its food, Biergarten remains quite authentic. Above average German comfort food. This helps when trying to accommodate those picky eaters in your family. The "beer hall style" tables mostly have 8-seats, but, there are 3-seat and 4-seat tables along the upper mezzanine wall. However, one cannot ask for nor reserve these tables, as they are used as "overflow" as the floor-level seats are taken. In all cases, tables are pretty close to each other, thus access is tight when standing up. There are minor differences in food from lunch to dinner. Even "picky people" and kids seem to find items to eat.
.
NOTE2: There is entertainment at both lunch an dinner. However, the dinner "shows" seem longer with more audience participation. Great for adults AND KIDDIES. Show Times are daily at 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:45, 5:55, 7:00, 8:05p

We enjoyed our lunch in June. I think the food was better several years ago, but it is still good. The show is great and for those in our group that were not really into the meal changed their minds once the show started.

I just got back from a 'girls only' trip with my mom. We ate dinner at Biergarten and LOVED it!! The food was incredible... Save room for dessert!
Since it was just the 2 of us, we were seated at a table with a family of 5. We really enjoyed their company.

I just wanted to add this for anyone clicking on the thread or to the OP. There are two sizes beers at the Biergarten, if you are so inclined. The larger one is the best value and is a great value compared to beers outside the restaurant (I have an anal retentive husband when it comes to things like this). However, it's a HUGE beer (in my opinion) but you don't have to drink it all at your meal. The servers will give you a "to go" cup very nicely at the end of your meal. So, if you want suds, you can enjoy during and after your meal.

We went there last week, for the first time. We had a 1:45 reservation, and caught the entertainment twice while we were there! We loved everything, from the atmosphere and entertainment, to the wine (I love reislings) and the service.

But best of all was the food. We didn't have a bad dish from the buffet - - and I agree with a PP that the tomato salad was delicious. Yes, the tomato salad! Make sure you have the other salads as well, and pour on the pretzel rolls, schnitzel, and of course sausages. And there were several desserts to top it all off.

I'm adding it as a must-do for the future.
