Just thought I'd mention, I logged onto my FairFX account yesterday just to check it and my card is up for renewal in March. I clicked on the renew now option (which appeared beside my card number on my account home page since the last time I logged in) and a message came up saying if I renew early, they will waive the £5 fee. Just thought I'd mention in case anyone else could save a fiver (which will buy you a couple of Dole Whips). :goodvibes

No such luck here :sad2: Boyfriends is due to expire at the end of the month and seeing as he has about $50 left on it we want to renew it but I'm getting the if we top up more than £150 then they'll waive the renewal fee but that's it. Since we don't have anything definite planned we'll most likely just pay the £5.95.

Have been checking it in the last couple of weeks as well but maybe we missed the boat.

Hmm that's odd - as the instructions told me to just enter "0" in the top up amount and it would process - which it did. Perhaps they offered it if you renewed very early :confused3

I have a question about FairFx, as this thread got me thinking...

I already have a FairFx card from 2011, which expires April 2013. I'd like to use FairFx again this year, but we are in WDW April 27th - May 11th, so I know that I need to renew it.

I've logged in online, but I can't see anywhere to renew? Am I missing something obvious? I know I still have 3 months or so before it expires, so is this too early to renew?

Sorry, if I'm being really dumb about this :headache:

Thanks 2Tiggies; I've just renewed ours for free too.:thumbsup2

BethEjo; I just clicked on a small brown 'renew' box next to card number on page you get after log-in. Our expires 28th Feb 2013, when I clicked on box it said 'We have waived your card issue fee and the top-up is completely optional, just enter zero for the top-up amount and use the "Continue" button to effect your renewal, until you see the "Order Accepted" page.'

We used our quite a bit in October so perhaps it depends on how much you've used it recently.

Also note that they advised new card can take up to 6 weeks to arrive so order early.

Thanks :) On that page, I only get two brown boxes saying 'top-up' and 'lost/stolen'.

Just checked out their FAQ's and it seems I am too early: "You may apply on our website for a renewal up to 2 months before expiry of your FairFX Card. This renewal will run for a further two years and your balance will be available on the new card. Standard renewals terms are that cards cost £5.95 to renew, or zero if the card is also topped up with £150 worth of currency at the same time."

Thanks again - will just wait until next month! Just glad I've noticed now that I'll need to renew it :)

Yes i renewed my one last year and just had to put 0 in and no fee

Love my card and wont get rid now

Beth, yes, you may be too early. I check my card at least once a week to every 10 days and just before Christmas it didn't show the renew option. That option showed up for the first time 2 nights ago when I logged in to check. Mine is up for renewal in March so I would suggest that you keep checking :thumbsup2
