My best friend and I are in the starting stages of planning a trip to Toronto, should we be able to save up enough, and it would be our first time crossing the boarder without being in a group of people (my last time was with the boy scouts.) I've got a passport, so that shouldn't be a problem.

My question is, does one need to have a notorised doccument stating permission to take a car across the border should it not be registered to those crossing. Both of our cars are in our parents names, and we would perfer to have everything done up in advance, in one binder for when we cross the border. I know that normally there isn't an issue, but I would rather be safe than having a major issue.

I've tried looking online, but I am yet to find anything on websites, or perhaps I have been using the wrong keywords in Google. :confused3

I have never had to show my car registration upon going into canada. I haven't went to Canada in about 6yrs so this could have changed. Susan
