Anyone drive from Alabama to Disney??

We've always taken US 231 to I-10 to I-75. Then we take the turnpike to Toll Road 429 which takes us into the West gate of WDW. I would suggest going to Montgomery and taking this route. I've heard 280 in Georgia is not that good.

We drive down there just about every month pulling the camper.

I've been just about every direction you can think of from north alabama, and my favorite with the least traffic problems and the best time and best gas mileage is I-65, I-20, I-75, Turnpike, 429, Western Way.

As I said, I've tried them all - I-65 to 231 to I-10, I've also gone I-65, then down through Auburn, then picking up I-75 in South Georgia, and I've even driven to Chattanooga to I-75 there.

We now leave Huntsville late afternoon and take I-65, then go through Birmingham, then onto I-20, then through Atlanta well after 7pm, then stop for the night somewhere in Tifton, GA, then onto WDW the next morning.

We also drive from North Alabama. This has been our experience as well. Hope you have a great trip! :)

My sister didn't like the 280 route through Georgia at all.

One of the directions websites suggests taking 84 out of Dothan instead of going directly to I10 from 231. I've not tried it though.

In Florida, we found an interesting route to get to I75.

We stopped to eat lunch in Live Oak, Florida one day and found the fast food restaurants at the interstate clogged because AU fans were headed to a bowl game in Tampa.

Anyhow, we drove further into Live Oak and ate at the Dairy Queen in Downtown. While there...we figured out that we were really close to US90. We took US90 for about 40 miles and came out SOUTH of the I75-I10 interchange.

I'm not going to say that we made time, but we did get away from the mind numbing blacktop of I10, and don't think we really lost time either.
