Hi,

My husband and I are going for a short trip next weekend and I have a question concerning the dining plan. We're coming in late on Friday afternoon and will be heading to Epcot and skipping dinner and just enjoying F&W. So, we won't be using our TS on Friday, just Saturday. Can we use all 4 TS on Saturday and treat our in-laws to dinner with us? They are just coming over for the day and not staying at Disney.

Anyone done this before, treat people for TS that weren't staying with you?

Thanks for your responses.

Julia

Unfortunately, the Dining Plan is non-transferable. Per forum rules, if you have any further questions about this, please contact Disney Dining directly.

I am sort of new to all this but from what I have read yes you can do that. I know for a fact that it doesn't matter which days you use your credits

Hopefully someone else can give you more info

edited--looks like I am wrong--sorry

Okay, thanks for your responses. I guess I'll skip the dining plan this time since I'm only planning on the 1TS for the 2 days.

If you are only there for one night, you would only get one TS anyway. I thought there was a minimum stay for the dining plan.

No, I'm actualy going for 2 nights and 3 days, that's how I would have 4 TS for my stay. I'm a DVC member, so I have the option to purchase the dining plan for as many nights as my reservation. I think if you're booking through CRO, then there is a mininum night requirement.

While dining on DDP last week, my wife and I watched a CM split a check in two for a party of four adults. She did this to allow all at the table to use four TS credits, even though the card read 2A. Please note, this wasn't a Signature restaurant...if that matters.

I guess it all depends on the server...and possibly how they are approached with the idea.

...just my two cents.

currently as the program works, yes you can. You can treat people. You can give your desserts to other diners, etc.

Currently being the operative word.

Some CMs will indeed allow guests to violate the rules of the Dining Plan, however, again, forum rules require us to direct further questions regarding that to Disney Dining. Sorry. :confused3

Bicker is correct.

Sine the guidelines can be interpretted different ways, and it seems people do have different experiences with this situation, it is best to check with Disney directly on their official stance on this subject.

Before this turns into a heated debate over what is right and wrong I will lock this thread.
