Seems like a good deal for $20...3 rides, 2 fastpasses to use later and preferred viewing for a show? For the Christmas season seems like it would be worth the $ to avoid some lines?

So, kind of off topic of what you are asking, but there is a Christmas Tour as well. It's more expensive, but it looks really cool. You get on 2 rides, get preferred seating for the Christmas parade, and a cookie & cup of cocoa in a souvenir cup. DH and I are planning on doing that for sure if it's available in November.

I have not done that tour, but we recently did the Discover the Magic tour and it was totally worth it--especially if you have young-ish kids (but not too young). My kids are 10 and 11 and they totally got into it, the other kids on our tour were a set of 3 year old twin girls and they didn't get into it at all, in fact much of it was way over their heads and they were scared to go on one of the rides.

My sister and I did this tour about 2 years ago. The tour, priced at $25.00 is some of the best money spent at DL. If you use aaa or disney visa to reserve tour you save 20% making price $20.00 per person. We met up with the guide at the tour area in DL. Walking across the plaza to get to DCA we stopped while the guide talked about DCA giving out fun and intersting facts about park. Tour members got to ride tower of terror with no wait. We also rode soaring, and one more attraction that I forget what it was. We then walked across the plaza and entered Disneyland. We got so much interesting information about this DL and Disney, himself. Getting a sample of what ever candy they were making this day was a nice surprise. Members of the tour rode Indianna Jones, jungle ride but again for the life of me I can't remember 3rd one. Completing tour the guide gave out fast passes good for both parks and information on what event we would have VIP sitting. Sister and I picked the afternoon parade. Sitting in real chairs was so nice and the view from top of the rail station was perfect. Alladdin would have been offered but this was one of their dark days. We were also able to make a reservation at one of the park restaurants. We did not use this service as being last night we had made other plans.

Hope this helps. I plan on doing this tour again.

thanks ! I think it sounds like a great idea to start off our first whole day there...then the holiday tour another day !
no lines Christmas week sounds priceless to me !

for the extra 2 fast passes- could you use them on any ride you wanted that took fast passes? and could you chosse either Aladdin or the parade or did they decide for you?

thanks!

This was a lot of fun (and saved a ton of time!). You ride HMH and IASWH without waiting in line, get some holiday facts and trivia, sample whatever fudge they are making in the candy shop, sing carols, we made a stop to see Santa's Reindeer, and then you get hot chocolate in a souvenier cup, a yummy gingerbread cookie and SEATS!! for the xmas parade right in front of IASW. We also got a souvenier pin from the tour. It's available every day during the Holiday season (and for each showing of the parade). We did the 2nd parade.

Wow! That was a great tour for only $20!! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing that!

Does anyone know if you have to have park hopper tickets to do thhe Welcome to DL tour? We will only be there for 2 days and don't have a hopper. Also, are there certain hours that the tours are offered?

Park hoppers are not needed the day of tour. Someone in our tour asked that very question. Guide told all of us that you would be able to go to both parks because you did tour and had fast passes for other park. Guide did mention that it would be for one time entry to park you did not have pass for. So make sure you see and do all things you have heart set on.

We had 5 members that only had one day /one park tickets. You would need to go to "other park" same day as tour.

So for 25/20 this tour is truly one of the best.

Please remember this was appx 2 years ago. I do think it holds true today. The guide will let you know for sure

Does this tour need to be booked in advance or can it be done the day of? Also, are there specific times it is offered? We'll be there next week (for our first time at DLR) and this is the first I've seen information about this tour. Sounds interesting!

I'd recommend booking ahead of time (can be booked up to 30 days in advance) to get a spot. Call (714) 781-4400 to book your tour and for tour times. (BTW you have to pay for the tour when you book it)

Do you think it's worth taking time to do if you only have 2 days at the parks?

This welcome tour and the Christmas tour both sound great to me. Chairs to watch a parade?!? Count me in

I tried to go onto Disney's site to see tour prices for these and other tours, but I can only find a summary information page that has a brief synopsis of each tour, but no prices or detailed info. Can anyone give me a link to something with prices on Disney's site?

Thanks!!

With the new website layout, I can't find the prices either. Welcome to Disneyland is $25 (plus 20% off if you have an AP or Disney Visa) and I think the Holiday Tour was $54 (?) last year...but that may be with the AP discount....

That's hard to say. It depends on the people. For me personally, I would not do a tour if I had 2 days. I would want to do the parks comando style. But that is just me :rolleyes1
