My daughter and family are going to US soon and staying onsite. I will be staying at WDW, but would like to go with them a couple of days and was thinking of buying the VIP Express Ticket package that gives admission and unlimited FOL pass like they will have as guests of the US hotel

Has anyone done this and was it worth it?

Well here are the prices, it's anywhere from $219-$280 for a 2 day park to park, depending on your dates....how many are in your daughters family? The onsite rooms will allow up to 3 adults and 2 children per room....it's only an extra $25 a day for the extra adult....you don't have to sleep there, you can sleep at your Disney Destination but as long as you are on their room you will get a photo express pass (the new system). Lots of peeps book one night just to receive 2 days of unlimited express and stay somewhere else (say, in the middle of a Disney trip :) they'll take a visit to the darkside!)

The express pass is great to have. This ticket type is not really a common type of ticket and it is surprising hard to find on their website!

I have never used this ticket because we always stay onsite so it is not something we ever need. However, if you are visiting the parks with a group that has unlimited express, I highly suggest you get it. Your daughter is paying to stay onsite for the perk of skipping the lines. However, on the days you visit, they would not want you to wait alone so if you did not purchase the express tickets, they would be missing out on the use of a perk that they got. Simply for this reason I suggest getting it. It is a better option going with the VIP ticket because it is unlimited express where the normal express pass you can purchase is not unlimited.

I have purchased the VIP ticket for our June trip and have a quick question. I wont usually post in someones elses thread to ask a question but this pertains to the Vip so it fits...
What is the best touring plan with the VIP? We plan on getting to the parks before opening and heading to WWOHP. Should we then head back to Hulk and Spiderman to work around clockwise or head to Dueling Dragons and go counter clockwise? Maybe it wont matter because of FOTL access?

With the Express Pass, it really does not matter much. Head to HP first since the main ride does not have the Express line yet and you will have to do the normal wait. For the rest of the rides, it really does not matter. I also suggest just going around the park.

Look at the IoA maps. After you finish HP, head out the Jurrasic Park way and explore that area working your way around the circle ending up back at HP for another Butterbeer and ride on the FJ :thumbsup2

Not sure that this would be a perk you would be interested in relative to buying a VIP ticket but we purchased a 2 day VIP ticket last January--used it the full two days w/ unlimited fotl pass privileges and converted it at the end of the 2nd day to a 2-Park Preferred Annual Pass for ZERO additional money--even the Guest Relation gal was surprised that we were able to get a Preferred Annual Pass for no more money but they had no :cool1:problem doing it!

Wow, I never thought about doing something like that! You spent the money for the ticket and you can always upgrade them BEFORE you leave the park on the last day of the ticket being valid. Since the price of the VIP tickets are the same (and in some cases more than) Annual Passes, you can get an AP for the rest of the year for FREE! This might be something to think about for anybody wanting to buy the VIP ticket. If you enjoy your time at Universal and there is ANY chance that you might return within a year for some more fun, it never hurts to do the free upgrade to the AP. It would save you a lot of money on your return visit. Great idea TRAVELQUEEN!

i'm wondering now that the above has been posted, will there be an exclusion listed on that type of upgrading.

Thanks Badge. Sounds like a good plan. :cool1:

I will let you know in June...hehe

Having purchased 7 different multi-day VIP passes over 2 trips the past year and another trip soon, this would have been nice to know:sick:

We had no idea you could apply the purchase price toward a season pass.

With that said, if you were planning to buy a season pass, why not enjoy "x" days of VIP passes first, then request the season pass.

Yup, it would make no sense to do it otherwise. You wouldn't gain anything.
