I had no plans of going to Disney this year since we were there last fall but when I saw the $9 flights I'm thinking hey...maybe I CAN go back!:lovestruc

Have you tried it. Was it worth flying to Melborne & renting a car to drive to WDW? At this point for $9 I almost want to buy the tickets for the fall and if for some reason JetAmerica disappears I'm not out that much. What is your experience with them?? Anyone??

Thanks!!

My only concern for you would be if they close while you are on vacation. The founder is a man who once started Skybus and they had $10 fares. They just stopped flying one day stranding many passengers without a way home who then had to pay full price for a one way last minute ticket....OUCH!!

Remember, the $9 is only if you get one of the first seats available. I flew skybus and had no problems at all with them, including fees for bags and food on the plane (people said flyers would not put up with fees, and now they are the norm, which I find funny). Skybus was flying into more secondary metro areas, IMO then what this one is. I had no problems up til they just closed up and my trip to San Fran was in trouble. Luckily I was able to get decent priced SW fares to take my trip. Granted there really isnt anything keeping any airline from just folding, but you do have to be more wary of startups. SB was perfect for me as it was based here in Columbus, but alas, something took them down. As the official line is high fuel did them in, which probably played a lot into it, but I think they expanded too fast. I still think there was some other underlying reason, but who will ever know.

I would be surprised if they lasted until September. They will start service with ONE plane. They will not offer daily service to Orlando. You do the math, what happens if you are bumped from that flight or there is a mechanical issue or a weather issue. It could be days (even a week) before you get home. Not worth the risk IMO.

We had flights scheduled on Skybus when they went bankrupt. Our flights were still a few months out and we were able to get a refund through our credit card company but I wouldn't go with something like this again. Our flights really were not all that cheap since we didn't get the bargain fairs and the car rental rates at the smaller airports they flew to were much higher than what you can get at a large airport like MCO.

Thanks everyone! Somethings to consider for sure. Never thought about possible mechanical trouble...that would be BAD & we would be stuck. I may have to reconsider this!! Thanks again!

I sprung for the $9.00 ticket, between TOL and EWR for July 28, just to say I did it, and I figure they will at least operate for a couple months. But that being said the 9.00 each way, turns into $49 rt after all the taxes are added.

I trust them for a quick day trip to New York, but dont think Im ready to risk it for my Disney vacation.
