Hi,

Yes, another stroller question! ;)

I just bought a Combi Cosmo DX for my 18-month-old, since we'll be doing a lot of traveling and I'm not lugging my Graco around. I had a hard time deciding between the Combi or a Maclaren Triumph. I DIDN'T go for the Maclaren because I used to have a Chicco Caddy (I KNOW it's much cheaper!) and I didn't like many things about it (the "umbrella" stroller look of it, the small canopy, the small basket). I have a hard time paying over $100 for something that looks like an umbrella stroller. The Maclaren seemed like what I had already had in style. Anyway, I chose the Combi based on that, and the tri-fold. I really love the tri-fold system (I haven't seen anything like it) and the cup holder and larger canopy. I find I DON'T like the handle and how low it is (and I'm only 5'4"!) I like the other features of the stroller, but I wonder if I'll be sorry I don't have a Maclaren when I put it to serious use, as far as my comfort while using it.

I really want to love this stroller. So far I only like it. (I DO love the wheels though.) Anyone use it happily in Disney or another vacation? I have to decide now whether to return it. We leave next week for a long non-Disney trip, and by that time it will be too late! Thanks!! :)

BTW, my son will be 2 when we go to Disney, but he's on the small side, so I'm not worried about the Combi not accommodating heavier children.

A few years ago when my DS was 3 (he was small for age) we used a Combi that has a trifold(dont remember the specific type)we were there for the 7 day land/cruise with a grandparents. Here is what I remember:
1. Even though DS small the stroller did not seem to turn well and felt at times like it was swaying.
2. This particular model had a very small basket, had to carry backpack.
3. No one in our party could figure out how to fold stroller but me..MOM
4. It was very compact and was great to fold when riding bus, cruise ship, and airplane.

I currently have peg perego and a have a few of the same problems....no one can fold but MOM and small basket...I think you will enjoy the compact size and tri-fold...steering is main problem. :)

We have 4 children, and for all of the others we have had combi strollers and really, really liked them. When we traveled last summer our youngest dd was 6 months, and we took our ten year old Combi stroller and it was awesome...light weight, easy to fold, pram style, full recline, moving shade for best pretection, reversible handle, etc.

However, on the return flight the stroller was damaged (aluminum was bent). Since this was not our every day stroller (we used a Graco that the car seat snapped into and had a huge basket), we did not even notice the damage until we took the stroller out to consider weather we should use it for our next trip in September when dd will be 20 months.

So now we are on the stroller hunt. The Graco is too large and not as convenient now that dd no longer is in the infant seat, so we will get rid of that. We have been looking at the Combi's and the Mac's (quest model). After trying both, I think we are sold on the Mac. The main reason is that the Mac fits a bigger kid...not just in weight, but also in length. The footrest on the Combi is situated very high and even a child of 2 could easily hit it or end up with feet on the wheels.

We have gone back and forth numerous times on this issue, because I also love the tri-fold feature of the Combi (and that the stroller stands when you fold it!), and I am less fond of the umbrella look, but I am almost 100% convinced that he Mac will serve us better in the long run. I still have not purchased, but I think I have decided - I think LOL

We took our Combi Savvy, not sure the difference between that and the Cosmo, last July and really liked it. It was very easy to push, fold and carry. DS was 1.5. We plan on taking it again this fall, he will be nearly 3, but still fits in it good. I think the biggest drawback is no cupholders. I don't care about the small basket because I carry a backpack anyway. :thumbsup2

Letsgoagainsoon,

I couldn't see much difference between the Savvy and the Cosmo when I looked into them. The cosmo does have a cupholder though, and silly as it sounds, that was a big deal to me! DS always has a cup with him. I'm glad to hear it gave you no problems.

Any other advice is welcome!
