Anyone done a Palo brunch recently?

We were on the Fantasy recently and I asked if they had the honeycomb that used to be on the buffet. Our waiter hadn't heard of it so maybe it's only on certain ships?

I don't think they ever let you take the leftovers back, even in the beforetimes, so that's not surprising.

I did the first Panama Canal cruise, and I got the VERY strong impression that the people at Palo were bored. I ended up eating there three times, and they sent us back to the room with a crazy amount of food. My favorite was the "here's two souffles and a dessert pizza for second dessert". Palo leftovers were once a thing!

We went last week on the Fantasy, as pp stated no buffet; but I think most of buffet items are still available as part of appetizer plates. Our waiter encouraged us to order as much as we wanted, and to try lots of things. We started with breakfast foods, then bread and pastries, pizza and a calzone, then lunch dishes and then almost all the desserts. We enjoyed everything and felt it was worth the cost. I've heard lots of people recommending the chicken parm which was heavenly, but I have to also highly suggest the calzone.

Thanks,
I have watched some videos recently and it looked like you had to either decide on the meat or seafod appitizer or share.

We are going in a couple weeks on the Magic and super excited. I initially booked for 2 but would like to increase the reservation to 4 as we have friends that joined the cruise last minute. Any idea how difficult it might be to update the reservation when we get onboard? I'm scared of cancelling our current reservation in case I can't get another reservation.

Can your friends just add it on their reservation? Are there any spots left?

They sent some of the pastries back to our room because we got full (Disney Wonder last December). We weren't allowed to carry the plate out and the server almost beat us back to our cabin. :O) Was still worth it in our opinion though like some have stated above some of our favorite things were off the buffet and you could get as much as you want. We split a lot of items and were extremely full and satisfied.

Do NOT cancel your reservation as you might lose it when trying to add the other party. If the other party is able to book a table for two, at a similar time, on embarkation day, you can ask one of the MDR managers to join the two separate parties at a single table.

On the Dream/Fantasy, most of the two-person tables can accommodate three (for booths) or four for the square tables (which can fold out to become a round table to give a 4-person party more table space). I have not been to Palo's on the Magic (yet) so I do not know if the table configuration is similar to Dream/Fantasy. If this is the case, as above, on embarkation day, speak to an MDR manager and ask if they can add the other party to your reservation.

This works as I changed a two-person reservation to three just this past Friday, even though the reservation system showed no availability!

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Unfortunately the brunches are unavailable. I'll try to add them to mine when we get onboard.

I changed a 2 person Palo reservation to 4 people after boarding the Wonder in 2018. It was no problem at all.

QQ: Could someone remind me what the dress code is again for the Palo Brunch? I was watching a few Brunch videos and seen people wearing everything from a button down to Jacket to a polo. During this post covid times, has the dress code become more relaxed? I remember wearing a jacket.

I've NEVER heard of this before other than if you were staying in one of the suites. That is AMAZING!

Question: With the buffet non-operational right now, does the cheese plate they have as an option have as many cheese selections as the buffet did? I spent half my time sampling cheese off that huge cheese board during my last Palo bunch. A small three cheese plate will not be a fair substitute in my mind. If the cheeses are back on the menu then I'm back on board for Palo Bruch.

Who do you speak with to make changes or find out if there are any Palo slots available once onboard on embarkation day? Pre-covid, I remember going to a specific area to get a last minute reservation?
