Ok I am not a real exercise person, nor am I very "alternative" or "new age"...but I was feeling kind of stressed out and I bought a couple of Rodney Yee yoga videos and tried them out. Now I am really starting to enjoy the way yoga makes me feel, and I am actually getting to the point where I get up early to do yoga? Anyone else out there into yoga?

I've never done it before, but I have seriously tought about it. I am so 'tight' and 'stiff' and wondered if yoga would help me loosen up a little.

You know, I was really into it for several months a while ago and I loved how I felt when I was doing it. I need to add it back into my life! :) Glad you are enjoying it!!! It is very relaxing!!! :)

and I know my Mom does some (alreadyexcitedGrammy)

I try to hit a yoga class at least once a week, but if not I do some moves on my own at home. I'm going to look into the Hatha videos as I've heard they're pretty good and maybe even my DDs would do them too?

I take my 6 yr old DD to yoga and she does it too! It's great, very relaxing and if you concentrate you can really work your muscles. I have been sore from yoga before :)

I've practiced yoga for over three years, though I've recently taken a two-month break from my practice to address other fitness priorities. I'll be starting my yoga practice up again mid-June, barring unforeseen injuries.

I typically would practice two or three times per week. Usually one practice was a standard Hatha Yoga practice, half stretching and twists, and half strength-building postures. The other two practices are Viniyasa practices, flowing postures series -- very aerobic (very high calories burned; something like 8 calories per minute, average, over a 90 minute practice!), but also with some strength-building benefits.

I am 50+ and DH and myself have been doing yoga at a Health & Fitness Center for 2 years. We have been exposed to Rodny Yee, our instructor took a refresher class with him in NYC in Oct.
DH also bought 5 of his tapes.
WE do hatha, viniyasa and sometimes body pilates and original pilates. It has made a difference in our lives and in our appearance. We love to practice and we usually go together to a class. DH does many more classes than I do, but we do feel better and we are still having fun.
