Anyone doing a Disney Cruise in 2005

Well as I'm back from my Summer holiday, I am now thinking about next year, and I'm sooooooooo looking forward to my next visit to Disney World in May 2005. We're also going on the Disney Wonder for 3 nights and this will be our 3rd visit. So is anyone else out there taking or thinking about doing a Disney Cruise? It is an absolutely fantastic experience, the food is brilliant, there are loads of characters and they serve my favourite drink 'A Bahama Mama'.

So roll on the kids going back to school and Christmas (yippee it's only 19 weeks on Saturday) and get 2005 here!!!

Hi Mandy,

We are hoping to do a cruise in Aug 2005...not the best time to go but it's when we can go. Prices are pretty good then though

We will hopefully be doing the 3 nighter (to tie in with our DVC being pricey at the weekends for points)

I must say I am very excited at the thought of the cruise...and DH is excited at the thought of all the overtime he will have to do to pay for it

I never fancied "Cruising" until Disney introduced it! I always imagined ladies and gents of a certain age hobbling around the ship playing bingo, quoits and sipping G&Ts!!! Both the Disney ships look fantastic....its something Id love to do, but it wont be next year for us! Maybe one day.

Look forward to hearing about everyones "Cruise" experiences though!

I agree Allie,I'd never go on a "normal" cruise,but the Disney cruise looks really good.We are hoping to go next year for a 3 night cruise.Its castaway cay that I'm excited about,it looks a lot of fun.

We've just booked our first Disney Cruise. We're doing the 4-night Bahamian on the Disney Wonder in December and I CAN'T WAIT!

We're on the Wonder Feb 17th. Not long now. We have cruised twice before, P&O and Princess, believe me its not just "olds" drinking G&T. We are in our 30's with 2 boys 9 & 7 and it is a fantastic family holiday, especially when you combine a week or 2 in Orlando with a week cruising the Caribbean. All food and entertainment is included, even soft drinks and beer on some lines can be prepurchased with an "all you can drink" coupon added to your room key. In the ports we got a taxi to wherever we wanted to go - none of this being sheperded around in tour groups.
I really didnt want to go at first but my parents were paying so who was I to say no. Now I am converted.

Oh UKDEB and Scotfan you're gonna love the Disney Wonder, I have never had the desire to do a cruise and the only reason we've cruised before is because they were both with Disney. Just make sure you take loads of film for your cameras as the characters turn up everywhere, and don't be in too much of a rush to do loads of excursions, just enjoy the ship as your only on it for 3 or 4 nights.

UKDEB we cruised in December 2001 and the weather was unseasonably hot, we were worrying so much about whether it would be cold before we left but we had temperatures in the high 80's everyday.

We are cruising for the 1st time in April next year (23rd to 30th) on the 7 day western carrabbean. Really looking forward to it. Still not sure how much 'posh' clothing to pack. Hoping to spend the week after at Vero Beach but we can't book it until October (6 month ruling), I hope we can get in ok. Role on Spring next year.

Yup me me - I just love the Disney Cruises. We did the 4-night last year and so booked the 7-night Eastern as part of our honeymoon this year it was fabarooney.

I'm off again on the 7-night Eastern with my girlfriends at the end of November and cannot wait.

Then next May Paul and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary on the Disney Magic but this time doing the Western itinerary.

We are currently also booked on the West Coast Itinerary 7-night from Los Angeles with a group of friends BUT we may have to cancel this because of our move and Paul's vacation time, we'll see.

I have never been on any other type of cruise except Disney but I do have the taste for it now and hope to try more cruises in the future.

John that sounds like a really great holiday - I really really want to stay at Vero Beach.

Please don't think that non-Disney cruises are stuffy and boring and for old fogeys. We do a P&O cruise every year, sometimes more than one. They are what you make them and the ages range from 2 to 92. The standards on a decent cruise line are unbelievably high with service immpecable.

I love my cruises, in fact when I was there in May it felt odd that I wasn't going to the Port during my trip as the previous couple of times I've visited has always involved cruising too!
