I lost 50 pounds on WISH four years ago. It came off so much easier because I did the Walk-away-the-pounds tapes faithfully. I have since gained most of my weight back, so I started doing the tapes again a few weeks ago. I know if I can just get my eating under control, it will work. I use the 2, 3, and 4 mile tapes. I also have a walk/kick DVD that I've tried a couple of times. Not sure if I like that one, though. I love these tapes because you don't have to have a lot of coordination to do them. Very easy to just put the tape in and go!
That's why I liked the couple of times that I have done the DVD's. I am quite clumsy and need an exercise program that does not require a great deal of coordination. I have done the 1 mile walk a few times and find it challenging, but not overwhelming and I know I will have to work my way up to the 2 and 3 mile.
I started out using the program. I love it and hope you find success with it. The great thing is that if it does eventually get easier, you can step up a bit more with it in your enthusiasm as you put in those steps.
The movement will help you to feel better. Good luck with the eating choices. Try not to look at that using the "D" word, rather view this journey as trying to be healthier and make healthier choices for you when you eat.
I've done the tapes before (had the ones with the "weighted blue balls" for a bit of an upper body workout). I liked them. I think Leslie has a nice, down to earth personality--so that helped too.
I have the 3 mile dvd. Ilove it. Its great for me who really has little coordination.
I'm working on getting back up to 5-6 days a week of it. Eventually I'll alternate with my Tae Bo and I'm looking to get Power 90 in the future. And DH wants P90x which is strength and really good but you gotta be in shape so I figure if I can get him interested in working up to the recommended fitness test we can get him that. It was easier when he was all into this working out thing. HE gets lower and gets comfy and goes right back to not exercising. Hopefully I can get him back doing it. Its great for us both and its wonderful that 3 year old dd loves to do it with us. She doesn't do the whole thing but she has fun with it. And I feel its a good example we are setting for her. I'm gonna try to get a wagon so I can take her on walks in it and hopefully she will stay in it. Maybe can get some family walks going on too.
I saw the 5 mile cheap recently and almost got it. Might go back and see if its still there.
I have several DVDs/Videos. I will not do anything other than them, as others just confuse me too much.
Another option to the Library, ours doesn't carry much is Netflix or Blockbuster, if you have either of those. I know Netflix has a wide variety of them. Great way to try before you buy.
BTW I have been using them for about 2.5 months (this time) and I am down 23 pounds.
I love them! Her tapes helped me lose 35 pounds a couple of years ago. Last year I got lazy and stopped doing them and gained it back.
This year I'm losing 67 pounds and keeping it off! So far, by dieting and doing her tapes, I lost 21 pounds since Jan. 1st.
I get a little tired of doing the same ones over and over, so I just bought the 5 milie advanced walk and I like it. I did 4 out of the 5 miles yesterday. The first week I started I couldn't even finish the 1 mile tape so you can see how great her tapes get you into shape.
I also love her walk and kick tape and the 4 mile express one is my favorite!
