We've got plans for Sept, 12 to 18th. However, with everything so crazy there now, I wonder if it will continue and maybe we should wait until next year.

Anyone delaying their vacation until crowds die down? We've never been to US/IOA, so I have no idea what the crowds would normally be like, but I think WWoHP is going to crazy.

I purposely picked November to give them a few months to work out the kinks. I remember when Spiderman was first opened.....

I would love to be able to delay until late Oct or early Nov, but w/ the oldest now in HS, I just can't do it. She has several honors classes, and last Nov she required surgery and was out for about two weeks and really struggled that whole semester.

So we go in Sept, or wait until Sept 2011. :(

Maybe all the rabid HP fans will go this summer and it will be be slower in Sept! :)

We decided to go in December. I was tempted to try to do it this spring, but my husband was the voice of reason, reminding me that it always takes time to work the kinks out of any new project. (Not to mention the possibility of construction delays, catastrophes, etc...)

I've also got a kid in high school, so we're taking off the last week (Dec 11 to Dec 18) before the Christmas break starts. There's usually not much happening that week, as it's all parties and finishing up the last few assignments. Exams are in January. And my daughter's a bright, laid back, type B kid, who never has any trouble with schoolwork.

Hopefully the parks will still be fairly quiet!

Naw, we're going as usual. We always go to Universal and HP is just a nice bonus.

Nope, all systems are a definite go for our September 10-19 trip! Crowds or no crowds, September is the only month we can go and life is too darn short to wait an extra year. If we can't ride FJ then whatever, we'll still have an amazing time.

So go for it! And I'm not just saying that because you'd be there the same time as us.

Well . . . maybe just a little. :rolleyes1

No, we actually moved it up. I made reservations in June, thinking the May grand opening crowd would be gone by then.....silly me...;)

When they moved the opening to within a few days of our arrival, I first panicked. Then, "If you can't beat them, then join them" kicked in.

Just two days ago I got on site for the 18th! :cool1:

Of course, this may have been VERY foolish on my part....:sad2:

We did the same thing - planned to go 23rd June for 3 days, thinking it would've been open for a good few weeks, only to then find out grand opening wasn't until 18th june! :rotfl: but we're not staying onsite - bit too pricy for us :goodvibes bring it on though! :thumbsup2

Nope. We're actually going for one day on Sept 1st. I can't wait!!! I know it will be busy...But i'm dying to check out the shops and try some butter beer :)

We were in Orlando last October and last March and originally didn't have any plans to to in 2011. Now, though, we're going March 2011. We're not even US/IOA fans, but are quite curious to see WWHP and are using that as an excuse to go down to Orlando again. Orlando is just such a fun time.

Due to health and money reasons now, we are putting of our trip until hopefully December. We are going to cancel our weeks stay for the beginning of July at RPR. I wish I could go but cannot afford it right now with my injury.:sad1:

We're going next week. I figure a week should be enough for them to get kinks out. ;)

Me too!! though Disney for a 8 days then Universal for 3. I am excited. I don't mind the crowds and on site will help. I say there are 3 attractions and stores - how many kinks can there be???? also I think DD will ride FJ once and be petrified to go again so all i need is 1 ride on it!!! And honestly RPH is a bargain rate compared to what I am paying per night at Disney yacht club...so i am saving money switching hotels!

We got 1 room at RPR for $125 + tax (annual pass PIN code) and the other we booked later for $139 + tax (annual pass rate.)

I think those are wonderful rates and we are so excited to go.

It's gonna be a couple of years before I can afford to go back to Florida anyway but I plan on making it a first class vacation.

Goal:

2 days at UO and stay at a Universal Hotel (wanna try for PBH or RPH)
1 week or more at WDW staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort (wanna try for AKL or any one of the monorail hotels)

Awesome rates. i pay 400 a night at disney so when i booked at RPH and they told me my rate was 212 i was suspicious...why so cheap? But it looks nice and gets me FOTLA so I won't complain!!!

Yup, we're waiting. I had been giving some serious thought to trying out Universal for the first time this July, but I spent several days hanging out on the boards here, reading all the news about problems, crowds, frustrations...and ended up deciding to wait. We're putting that money toward a DCL cruise in December instead.

Maybe we'll try for Universal next year, after everything settles down.
