Anyone cooked a turkey crown before?

Hi all,
this year it's just going tobe dh and myself - normally i cook for 6-8 people. so in an attempt to reduce waste I bought a small fresh turkey crown. I'm now sitting hear thinking whether you stuff a crown in the same way as a 'normal' turkey? I also usually smoother butter on and cover with streaky bacon and intend to do the same with the crown. What do you think? Anyone cooked a crown before?

Not sure about the stuffing or the butter but I know my Mum definitely used to cover our turkey crowns in streaky bacon. I love crispy bacon so I'll never forget that part of Xmas!

I would butter baste and cook in foil for around 30 minutes or so, then loosen the foil slightly and add streaky bacon on top, you want to make sure you get that golden brown colour on top - so just turn over the bacon as you see fit part way through cooking.

For the last 30 minutes remove from foil and butter baste slightly again, that way you will get that lovely golden colour and the meat should be nice and moist.

Personally wouldn't stuff the crown, it's probably slightly too small for that.

We've often had a crown but Ive never stuffed it however have smothered with butter and used bacon as you say. I also stand it on a 'rack' of root vegetables (Carrots and parsnips) to cook and add a bit of liquid into the roasting tin as well so it steams

and also instead of putting the butter on top of the crown try making a pocket in the skin and putting it in there, just seperate the skin a bit from the crown, the butter will sink into the meat better

I have cooked a crown before and we're having one this year too. I cover with foil until about 40 minutes before the end. I cover it with streaky bacon and I don't stuff it as the 'cavity' is sort of missing in a crown - you can sort of stuff the neck if you want to though!

We are having a crown for the 1st time as well, my brother (ex chef) is cooking it though
