Anyone canceling their AKL APH ressie this weekend?

Hi there-

Just a shout out- Im trying to switch our POP ressie to an AKL for this weekend (5/28-5/31) and was wondering if anyone might be canceling. If you are PLEASE let me know. Ive been calling CRO looking for a cancellation and so far no luck!

Advice to pass along...

I tried desperately to get the whole seven days at WL for our upcoming trip. I had made so many changes to ressie. At one time we had a split stay between WL and AKL, but we really did not want to switch resorts. CRO was probably tired of seeing me call. I probably tried every scenario possible. Finally, a wonderful CM told me last week that the system is not up to the minute accurate. It updates during the night and to call first thing in the morning when they open (7 am est) to check for availability from cancellations the day before. It worked. The second morning I called, I was able to get a courtyard view with an ap rate for the full seven nights. This was after calling daily, most days more than once for at least six weeks. I never knew that it didn't update up to the minute. I assumed a company the size of Disney would have a better system than that and if a caller cancelled a ressie, then it would be immediately available for the next caller. I wish someone had just told me that before so I wouldn't have wasted so much time.

First of- thanks for replying to my thread! I asked CRO about the cancellations and being put back into the system and was given the opposite information- that as soon as a cancellation is made, it goes right back into the system. Who knows- you NEVER get the same answer twice from them! (except no availability in my case) I have been trying to make the change for a couple of days to no avail but I will give it one more shot tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the tip! I thought it made more sense about an overnight update myself.

I've been racking my brain trying to get ressies for this weekend. This morning while I had a CR on the phone, I had pulled up a room for this weekend on the website. CR on phone said no rooms available but I was able to book online with no problem.

Just took another peek and there is a room available at All star Movies.


I would suggest you check the website and make phone calls several times daily. The Hilton Resort at Downtown Disney has rooms available @ $169 a night and they even get EMH's.

When you get there before you check in at POP head over to AKL and ask if they have any availability.. If they do then just switch then (no penalties for switching as long as they get your money...)
