Anyone buy new outfits before going to DL

My husband and I just got back from a fun day at the mall. We decided we needed some new clothes for our upcoming trip. We lucked out as almost everything was on sale/clearance. Just curious if anyone else feels the compulsion to purchase new outfits before going on vacation.

Yes! I bought my boys custom made Mickey shirts! They were great.

I tend to do to the disneystore.com and buy up a bunch of cheap t-shirts and outfits for them. Then wash em and pack em in the suitcase. That way they don't feel the need to buy that much higher priced clothes at emporium etc...

BTW... I would never buy everyone flourescent green matching outfits! I don't want to be "that family"!

We buy accessories instead of clothing. A few weeks before our trip, we upgrade our shoes and make sure they're broken in before we go. We also consider new jackets if it's winter. Other than that, we save our money for DL spending!

Its a yes from me. I mostly get new outfits for my girls. Disney just had a big sale and I got my 3 little girls matching outfit for each day. Tinkerbell leaves the girls a gift every night so this is a perfect. Some nights they get a little toy that I also got on clearance at Disney or Target.

I actually do the opposite; I take old, ratty clothes, and then if I need extra room in my bag for souveniers, I throw them away.

We hit up the Disney Store and get shirts on sale/clearance before we go.

What fun!!! I love getting new clothes for vacation. It's so fun to wear new things in new places. It's a must for us too!!

Well, I haven't been yet, but I have plans. I'm going to sew DD a Minnie Mouse dress
(red polka-dotted). I've bought fabric to make me a utility skirt, with heaps and heaps of pockets so I don't need to take a bag into the park; I'm hoping to make DD a little matching one as well. I've bought fabric and a pattern to make a lovely retro dress, which will be terribly impractical to take on holiday because it requires a tulle petticoat, which will take up half a suitcase. And it's totally wrong for the weather. And I'm pretty sure a retro-type skirt and tulle petticoat is the least practical thing one could possibly wear in Disneyland. Still, I might bring it anyway and wear it on a non-Disneyland day, when we're shopping or something. Oh, and I have vague plans to make a fancy outfit to wear for our special dinner at the Napa Rose/Blue Bayou (and also at Medieval Times, and possibly when we go see Wicked!).

In general I want to make a bunch of bright, cheerful, holidayish clothes. I usually tend towards drab and neutral colours, but I want some things that seem festive. And it's always fun to make clothes for DD - toddlers look cute in everything! I have some spring-coloured fabric saved up for the occasion - I want to make everything now while I'm keen, but I don't know how much she'll grow...

I feel the sick, compulsive need to buy new clothes every time I travel. Other than my underwear and jeans, nearly everything I pack still has a price tag on it. It just makes that trip feel that much more special

Um, yes. LOL! My children wear custom Disney themed clothing every day of our trip--you can see one of their outfit sets in my signature picture.

Well I unfortunatley am not crafty. Lots of neat creative thinkers here. Love the custom shirts and the Minnie dress idea.
We actually buy the 2 little boys several shirts and sweatshirts at DL every year. The quality of the product justifies the price for us. They wear these clothes all year and pass them down.
Now that we have a little girl again, FINALLY, I was able to buy a few princessy baby girl clothes. They are holding up very well.
We, also, like mom4princesses, love to buy from Disneystore online.

all the time. my mom gets a kick how when we go on vacation, she is always taking off tags from new clothes for the kiddos.

I just got my husband to wear Disney shirts on our last trip and now he says he will always wear them on our trips!

I like to buy a new Disney shirt for all of us for up coming trips, but only if they are on a really good sale or clearance

Yes, Yes, Yes! I am a Disney clothing shopaholic before a trip. I buy custom made items for my daughter as well as go to Walmart for cute shirts and PJs for the rest of the family.

Nope, I'm not one of them. I look out to get something when I'm at the park. I prefer to wear broken in clothes, so I don't have to worry about banging up or staining my new clothes and can just enjoy the park.

I'm the same way. I like to bring old, comfortable clothes. Just jeans/shorts and cheapy walmart t-shirts. Especially if it's hot/sunny out. I feel like clothes never seem very clean after getting sunscreen on them (even if you wash them a lot.) So I don't mind ruining cheap walmart t-shirts with sunscreen in the parks.
