We were one of the lucky families who 's reservation thru Hotel Kingdom was cancelled at Sunterra Cypress Pointe, due to the "bankruptcy". (Yea, sure!) We switched to Star Island, because the Hotel Kingdom rep said it was completely comparable to what we had reserved at Cypress Pointe. Well, I just found out the kitchen is a "mini" kitchen, and that there is no balcony! I'm disappointed to say the least. Anyone else switch to Star Island? For anyone who knows anything about this resort, am I going to be terribly disappointed? It's too late now to switch again. Please cheer me up!!:(

DH and I were bumped, too. We booked through HotelKingdom and were offered Star Island at $30/night for villa type A, but chose instead the $49.90/night villa type B that has a jacuzzi and full kitchen. When are you going? We will be staying there May 14th through May 18th, although I still haven't received a confirmation from HotelKingdom.

HotelKingdom also offered Ron Jon for $55 night (I think) and that sounded pretty good, too. I guess they have a big water park but it's a little farther from WDW.

If I go before you do, I will be sure to post a report!

Hi Kapeppy! Thanks for the quick post. We will be there June 1 thru the 8th. We took the rate of $30.00 a night to stay in the Villa type A. I hope I won't be too disappointed! Please let me know what you think when you get back! I'd like to know how "high" pressure the sales pitch is as well. Have a great trip!!!

I've seen the site for Star Island and it looks unbevievably beautiful! A normal room rents for over 200.00 and better, so I doubt you'll be disappointed. It is a timeshare.
