Ok, I am sick of discussing and debating hurricanes...

I am an avid fisherman. I have even managed to get Holly into it. (Well, it was her idea, but I am not complaining!) Moving to Florida has really exposed me to a wide range of fishing situations.

I recently bought a nice spinning set up that I use for just about everything. When I bought it, we talked a LONG time with the guy behind the counter at Outdoor World. He hinted that he made his own custom rods. I didn't think much of it at the time. I mean, I knew you could do it, but I did not really see the reason.

well, since then, the idea has been growing in my mind. I am now obsessed and I am going to get into this. I want to build a few decent rods for myself for various fishing conditions as well as build a few nice spinning set ups for gifts.

Does anyone on the board do this?

My dad tried to 'adapt' a surf casting rod to suit him (He's a lefty) with not much success. Then he discovered this old man down by the Cape Cod Canal (this has to be 25 years ago) who built BEAUTIFUL custom rods and packages. He has 4 of them left and still uses them.

I wish you all the luck, and you will become even more obsessed with it.

Have fun, and hook a good one!

no but i think that would be really cool!
