I know I am a freak, but I have a computer with me at all times. I am staying at the pop century. I have a DS who will be 11 months and I know I should be packing super light. Do you bring your laptop with you?

My hasband always has to bring his for work, he spends a few hous a night remoting in after we all go to bed at night. I know it isn't the spirit of vacation, and believe me he's not a work lover who wants to do this, but he is the only IT guy for 100s if not more computers and the systems, so he can't go away and be totally away. I'm not trying to complain, because of how hard he works I get to be a SAHM, but to answer your question, yes, we always take a laptop. One nice thing, we are able to download our photos every night so we don't have to worry about losing memory cards. I do know the internet can be pricey in the resorts, can't remember how much as he was reimbursed for it. Now he has a wireless remote card (I think that is what it is called) so even when I am taking my turn driving, he can work if they need him.
So, you won't be the only one for sure. Have Fun!!!

I brought mine once and never touched it the whole trip. I find that I have too much other stuff I want to do than surf the web or check emails.

If you need it for work, that's a whole other thing.

I am bringing mine mainly for my son to watch movies and for me to be able to upload our pictures every night. My DBF is a HUGE sports fan and only likes to watch sports...so I am sure that is all that will be on the hotel tv. We don't have a portable DVD player so DS can watch movies on the laptop if he feels like it (also a good option for the plane). I want to only bring on card for the camera so I will do an upload everynight and not have to worry about the card filling up. I also want to journal every night about the trip, and I am all about doing it on the computer because I just find it easier to type in and print when I get home.
We won't be getting the internet daily because I believe its about $10 per night in the values. We'll get it just the day before we have to check in and get boarding passes with the airline for the trip home!

We brought it with us our last trip and never even took it out of its case. I thought on the plane the kids would watch a movie but they were so excited and with the books and everything else they brought they didn't even ask to watch.

We always take one laptop with us and we might take two on this next trip. We usually sit on the side on the plane with 2 seats, and one parent sits with one child. Then once we are "free to move about the cabin", the oldest DS's squeezes in with the youngest DS and I and we watch a movie and DH usually sleeps. This time the DS's are getting too big to do that comfortably, so we are thinking about taking two laptops. That way each child can watch a movie or play solitaire.

We took ours last trip
checked emails
downloaded photos
looked up any last minute info we needed..

We just bought a laptop yesterday and plan on taking it with us on our Oct trip. DD can watch videos on the plane and at the resort, although I am not sure how much she will use it since the flight is only 3 hours and she is usually very good on trips. I always overpack stuff to keep her happy so not sure if she would actually use it...great, something else to second guess myself about

YES! My DH and I never leave home (for more than a day or two) without them!:thumbsup2 We both have 15in screen laptops and they fit nicely in the safes in the rooms at Pop.:cool1:

we always take the laptop. Like others, we download our memory cards. I like uploading them the flickr while I am there cause our family and friends like to see them. I even go through them and delete the bad, etc... thinking about blogging a little each night. Plus, I am working on a FanFiction story that that takes place at wdw. I am on a break needing inspiration, so being there may help me finish this darn story.

We always take our laptop we use it to check our emails, keep in touch with our daughters back home, watch DVD's, download our photos and make bookings for restaurants outside of Disney :surfweb:

It's the new AmEx (for those who remember the commercials ;) ) I always have to bring it so that I can upload our pictures nightly just so I can fill up the memory card again the next day :thumbsup2 . I usually only order the internet for 1 24 hour period just so I can keep updated on current events and say hi to everyone home and rub it in that I'm in home in Disney

Yes...I've taken it with me for about 3 years now. My son watches a movie on the plane. The battery last about 2 1/2 hours and it's just enough time for a movie or 2. I also use it to download pictures and get updates on sports. When we were in Disney last year the Red Sox were in the play offs and we didn't get to see any games. I don't log on everyday (unless I need to check the scores)because sometimes I'm too tired at night but I try to do it every 2 or 3 days. I've never a problem just leaving it in the case in the room but I know other people that have locked it up.

I am, so I can upload photos each night and clear off my memory card for the next day. Cheaper than buying a larger card, and it saves a whole lot of frustration trying to edit out the bad ones while waiting in line! I'm also using it to watch DVDs on the way down and back up again.

Just got a laptop and am taking it over this time. Primarily it'll be to download my pics too so I have a backup but will try and get online a couple of times to check mail, post a 'live' trip report here and transfer pics to Flickr. Not long to go now :yay:

mainly for hubby to be able to keep in contact to work and his employees.

I also want it for being able to look up info while at DW, being a 1st timer, it will enable me to look up any info I need.

Don't forget how addicted we all are to the DISboards! :surfweb: We all have to check in and give live updates!:thumbsup2 Last September I had my Verizon aircard and was posting as soon as I got my butt on the ME!!!!:lmao: :cool1:

I am bringing mine with us for our trip also. I'm planning on posting some photos and also transferring the ones off my memory card as needed. I also might check my e-mail once or twice, we will be there for 10 days and not reading e-mail for that long will make it much worse when I get home otherwise.....

I will definitely bring mine on the trip but honestly - I hope I never touch it. :)
