Anyone booked onboard then transfer to AAA recently?

I know that in the past AAA's main "perk" for cruises was the free drink package. When drinks became free at the drink station that was ended and I understood that AAA was instead giving an onboard credit. I believe that is their current promotion?

Can anyone confirm the amount of the credit for the various categories and if it was given even if you already had the credit for booking onboard?

I just checked AAA a little while ago comparing prices for a 10/29/05 RCL cruise. Their price was the exact same as the RCL website. I didn't see anything about a room credit, but I was mainly looking at prices. I'd think they'd have to offer SOMETHING or why would people book through them as opposed to directly with the line?

I know...that didn't answer your question at all....

Yes, AAA is giving stateroom credits instead of the free drinks. It all depends on what cat. room you are in as to how much of a credit you will receive. For this December's cruise we are in a cat 10, so we are only getting a $25.00 credit. When we just sailed in August, we were in a cat. 4, so we got a $100.00 credit. Next August we are in a cat. 6 and we are getting a $50.00 credit.
I personally think the drink package was a better deal. But, a credit is a credit. I'll take what I can get.
Also, if you wait until AAA is having a cruise sale to switch your reservation over, you will receive an additional amount off the price of the cruise. That is what we always do.

We transfered ours from DCL to AAA and we're getting a $150 room credit for a cat 6.

Along with the BonVoyage gift basket.

And we saved $100 from what DCL was charging us.

Had you booked onboard, and if so, did you keep the $200 credit?

We were able to keep our on board credit this past August. We had actually booked a "special" cruise for this past August and got a $400.00 on board credit. With that and what AAA gave us, I had a nice chunk of spending money waiting for me on the ship. ;)

We rebooked while on board our 8/21 cruise and received the DCL 10% off and $200 room credit. I then switched it over to AAA and they quoted me the same price as DCL, I still got my $200 credit and AAA gave me a $75 credit plus 10% at Treasure Ketch and rentals at Castaway Cay. I'll be looking for specials from AAA and see if the price goes lower.

Just booked a special western with DCL and then called AAA agent that I used for a Wonder, 2003 cruise. She said that she didn't know what the credits would be for 2006 and would promise nothing. When I suggested that I really would like some incentive to move it to AAA she said "sorry."

Of course, there may be a correct answer as to what the credits or incentives will be in 2006 through AAA but I sure don't know what they are.

Needless to say an email to DU solved that
