I'm seeing conflicting info on various WDW-related web sites on whether or not you need to pay for this in full at the time of reservation....can anyone help me out?! Some say you just need to provide your CC number to guarantee the reservation, others that they will charge it then and there when you book. So I'm looking for someone who's done this recently who can give me the scoop!

Oh, and this would be booking it with a room-only stay at WDW, not as part of a package.

TIA!

I booked HDD last week. I was required to give my CC, but it was not charged at time of booking. We are going to be using the Dining plan to pay for HDD. My parents are going to be paying. The agent said that we can just let them know when we arrive whether to charge the card, pay cash, or use the dining plan. Hope that helps.

I made my reservations for HDDR quite awhile ago, but was charged the complete amount right then. In fact, when I called them back in Jan to get my 20% with my DDE card for the late show, I was credited immediatly. Now, I'm concerned...what happens if I get to HDDR in Oct and they try to charge me again? I thought it had to be paid at the time of booking, and if you were going to use DDP credits for the meal, they credited you back what you had already paid....I'm confused.

Just booked last night - for Sept 23rd.

Credit Card only - no charge until night of (unless you fail to cancel - then youre charged full amount)

And - on a side note. The credit card I used, was maxed. I figured if it didnt "go through" - I'd use a different card...this was simply to hold my ressie.

It went through, so it's only for confirmation!!!

Hope this helps.... currently I'm TOO EXCITED TO EVEN THINK STRAIGHT!

Amazing how a simple "Im booked" can change your psyche, huh??? :3dglasses

I booked our ADR last week. They just held the reservation with a CC#. We did not have to pay in advance. If you cancel 48 hours before the show you will not be charged.

I booked back in November for a May visit, for two different nights. My credit card was charged immediately for both. Last month, when my plans firmed up, I cancelled one and received the credit on my statement.

We are not doing the dining plan and I was charged immediately for my HDDR reservation. It has already appeared on my credit card statement.

I just booked now for dec 30th
I am using the dining plan and was told my CC wouldn't be charged unless we didn't cancel w/i 48 hrs. If using the dining plan it counts as 2 credits.
I've heard only great things about this show, and I can't wait.

My CC was charged immediately and I've since paid for it. We're not doing the dining plan so maybe that makes the difference of having to pay upfront or just having a CC on file?

I have reservations for Oct 6 and my credit card was charged the full amount immediately.

Maybe it has to do if you are on the dining plan or not. When I booked they asked me if I was on the dining plan. I'm not. My cc was charged right away.

It must be the dining plan, then. I was not charged.

Ditto for us on our June reservation using the Dining Plan.

I was there a few weeks ago and did not do the Dining Plan. We were charged right away and picked up our tickets at the resort. We had a blast. :thumbsup2 Well worth the money.

My card wasn't charged immediately, but it was charged after about 10-14 days (don't remember the exact day I called). And, yes, I did tell them I was on the dining plan. They said they would credit the funds back to my card if I used the plan when I ate. If your card is maxed, I would transfer some funds just in case!

I booked end of January and was charged in full immediately. Charge showed up on my next month statement. I was told this was the case. The only way you will not be charged is if on DP.
