I am going with my family in December and we need a total of three rooms. I am currently booked at rack and am hoping for an AP rate to apply to all three rooms. I have noticed that our rooms are being offered at a decent discount through Best Rate, but my DU agent tells me I need a different AP for each room. Well, we only have two adult passes, the others are childrens. Now, I see people saying they were able to book three rooms with only one AP. I dont' want to pester my TA, but I can't figure out what is going on. Even CRO told me I could book more than one room, but my TA doesn't seem interested in checking out what I have told her. I guess I'm just frustrated. This is the first time I've used a TA and it's the first time I've booked for other family members. Does anyone have an idea about what I should do? I don't want to alienate my TA, but I don't like feeling like I'm the one doing the research to find out what is going on.

Hi,

I have two rooms booked with an AAA rate through DU booked and my agent it telling me that he cannot convert the rooms to the AP Best Rate I can see online as my name would have to be listed on both rooms and since we are traveling with a family of five this cannot be done.

I have also seen others who have posted that they could still book up to three rooms using the new program. I have sent an email to Disney through thier website but I have not heard back yet.

Give that a try or try another agent and see if they are able to book the multiple rooms for you.

I am new to these boards and confused about some of the abbreviations. What is AP? DU? and CRO? Thanks

If you check out the Welcome to the DIS board there are links to all kinds of information for newbies including what the abbreviatns mean. Welcome and happy planning.

Rachel,
Here are the terms from the policy page on this:

Terms and Conditions for Room Only Reservations under the Passholder Best Rate Program
Deposit Requirements/Nonrefundability

A credit card deposit must be received at time of booking or the reservation will be automatically cancelled. Your deposit is not refundable.

Rate Revisions
Room rates are guaranteed as long as your reservation is not changed.

Please Note the Following
Room Reservations are not accepted until confirmed by confirmation number.
For reservation information PRIOR TO ARRIVAL, please call (407) 560-PASS†.
Passholder must present his or her valid pass at check in.
All room reservations and transactions are made and consummated in the State of Florida. Room reservations and transactions and these Terms and Conditions for Room-Only Reservations shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
These Terms and Conditions for Room-Only Reservations are subject to change by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online without notice.
Non-Transferable

Reservations are not transferable, and the guest for whom the room(s) or package(s) are reserved may not be changed.

I have also heard conflicting information on doing this, as CRO told me that 3 rooms per pass can be booked (but they are not familiar with the online best rate plan)

Your DU agent is telling you what we are being told is the official policy on this. The AP holder has to be the lead name on the reservation. In order to book more than one room your name (or the name of the passholder) would have to be on more than one reservation if you do not have 3 APs. Since you cannot be in 3 rooms, and the guest who the room is for cannot be changed (especially the lead guest) it would be very difficult to book a room this way without the chance of the rate being invalidated.

Disney has not offered a solution yet to bookings in which this would occur. I'm sure your agent is doing what he/she can to follow the policy that Disney has set forth on the site for booking these so that you do not arrive and have troubles with the rate.

Why not have your agent book 2 of the rooms with the best rate now, then hope for a regular AP discount on the 3rd room? Then at least you have 2 of them secured with the discounted rates now.

Sue Ellen

i have 2 rooms booked at different hotels with my AP. i booked on line and got the beat rate 11/27-12/04 all star sports 59.00 beach club 224.

my sister is coming with us and likes the ALL STARS. SO i told her i would try, i didnt think it would let me book 2 rooms at different hotels for the same nights.

did you try booking the extra rooms yourself on the passholder website? :confused3

weeyore33--I already had my reservation booked with DU and didn't want to cancel with them, but thanks for the suggestion! :)

I think much of my frustration comes from different people being able to do different things. I seem to get different answers from different people.

Booking the two rooms sounds like a good idea. I hadn't thought of that and it hasn't been proposed before now. Thanks, SueEllen! I will take the risk of rack rate if I could get a discount for my family members.

Got this reply when I asked about it....

Dear Karen,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Yes, you can make two reservations with the Best Rate program. The lead name on each reservation
must be a passholder (even if they both have to be in your name). Please note that you can only book
one room per reservation number so you will need to book each room separately. Also, each
reservation will require a nonrefundable deposit equal to one nights room plus tax.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Julie Fry

I plan on making mine online to avoid the hassle with my TA that tells me I can't do it this way. I can then fill out a form to have the reservations transferrred to my TA.

And herein lies my frustration. :confused3 I'm not sure why people who ask disney about this are receiving different information than the travel agencies.

Contact Magical Journeys they have a web site and ask for NANCI she will be glad to help you out. These ladies are wonderful to work with.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! :) I'm definately going to have to look over our vacation and decide what is the best way to go.

And what do we do if we require connecting rooms? Does anyone have an answer to this?

If you need connecting rooms you call Disney and tell them so. They do something called "linking the reservations." They will not guarantee the rooms will connect unless you have small children in the adjacent room. I have never had a problem, though, getting a room that was at least adjacent to my parents if not connecting with a door inside. :)
