anyone book through a CM discount?

Has anyone ever booked through a CM discount? We ended up doing that this time and was wondering if there is anything specific we need to know...anything extra needed at check out, etc.

Are CM discounts treated differently? I know that is probably a weird question, but wondering if we got there early, would we be the one to wait until all others got their rooms first, or would be placed in not so great locations, are we allowed to request location, etc?

I so feel guilty using this, but were planning a very last minute trip and haven't seen my good friend in such a long time (her hubby works for WDW), the only way I could do it was by that discount and she practically insisted. I just hate asking for anything and I feel like I am putting her DH out because he has to go to the extra trouble of verifying booking, checking us in....

Since getting this DC, we have had to do this all ala carte...which has saved us $600.
Any info would be helpful!...

I have used the CM discount many times (my dad is a CM). the only thing that I can think of is that we always get the farthest room possible. We've been treated really well, except for our last trip to CSR. We did not get the type of room we had requested and paid for, and they told us that it was because we were at the CM discount, we were expected to understand... We had a really bad experience with staff at CSR but other than that, we've been traveling to disney on the CM discount for over 10 years now, and have been treated great every other time!

Ok, so I should expect nothing? We are staying at the cabins, I was hoping for the 2100 loop, would it even be worth a try?

It looks like they can tell when you check in that you are a CM discount huh?

I will be staying on a cast member discount in 4 days. My sister works at the Contemporary. She told me that she has to either fax her ID or show it to the front desk at Pop Century before we arrive. Then we just check in normally. I have no experience with room locations, but we did book a preferred location at Pop so we'll see what happens with that. I will report back when I get home. It's just so great to get 50% off a value resort, it makes this trip so affordable!

Thanks...yes, it is very nice to get the discount. But the real bonus is that I am going to see a very good friend who I haven't seen in years!!! Haven't been to florida in 10 years and she moved 7 years ago!

We are leavinging in 4 days!! Can't wait!!!!! I am so excited to see my girls' face when they experience the magic of Disney!
