Anyone been to WCC lately? Can I have a review?

I read here a few months ago that they made many changes lately in what the servers could and couldn't do - causing the "fun factor" to be squashed.
The poster said it was in an effort to calm things down and make it more quite for the lobby area, what a bummer. We used to love it there and I was planning on going back in Sept - but now I don't know if it will be worth the effort. It's quite a haul from where we will be staying.

Do they still do the horse race? The father dance? The ketchup thing? Should We still go? We didn't particularly go for the food - just the fun - so I'm torn. :confused3

I posted a review fairly recently in the Review boards. We were all disappointed in this place, but we had fairly high expectations because we'd remembered in fondly on our trip a couple of years ago.

They did ketchup and pony races but not much else. The food I found to be mediocre and the antics have been toned down quite a lot. That said, many others loved their meals there and had a different experience than we did. I think it depends on your server (although I didn't notice much going at other tables on our visit either, so I do not believe it's all the server affecting the experience here) and your expectations. Since we'd been in the old days, we remembered it from then and were therefore disappointed in what we found this time. I think people who haven't been there before might not have the same expectations as we did.

We were there in June for dinner and had just as much fun as we've always had! Our server was great and managed to embarass our 18 year old Nephew quite nicely in front of everyone (it was his HS graduation that we were there for). Pony races, ketchup, crayons and all of those normal antics were still happening. And when my Husband requested the EXTRA large iced tea....she brought it to him and the other guys at the table in itsy bitsy child size mason jars with straws that were about a foot and a half long! :lmao:

In my opinion, WCC is very much overrated. I feel there are many more restaurants more worth my TS credit. We found the food to be acceptable BUT nothing else was good. We were basically slopped like hogs and rushed to get out. We were still eating our meal and they wanted our dessert order. We gave it and weren't done eating when they were pushing the dessert to the table. My husband was deciding on what to have and they were pushing for the order. Not even kidding as they could have done so as "part of the act" to get him moving BUT they were rude... By "they" I mean the waitress and a waiter was helping her. They were this way with my table and our guests and another table on the side of us. A man and his two daughters were sitting at another table near us but had not ordered yet. He noticed the service we were gettting and left. There were a couple of people that it seemed were waiting for tables but not a line where they should have treated us like that. I don't think I'd go back a second time.

Ms. Mouse --

You should have asked to speak to a manager -- no one deserves that kind of treatment when dining out. I don't care if they were in a hurry to turn your table over or what their reason was. It would have been one thing if you were just sitting there for 30 minutes after dessert, but to rush you before you were finished with your entree -- that is just not right. :bitelip:

We were there the beginning of July. The place was fun as usual. People were being made to sing. Many had straw hats and bandana hats on. Stick pony races were still going on. It was a lot of fun. We noticed no changes from the many times we have been. I booked it again for next month.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We had so much FUN! I had the pork chop which was the best meal I had at walt disney world the entire time.

Enjoy and get the pork chop at WCC!!

It is my family's favorite restaurant in all of WDW. We've never had a bad meal there.

I would really love to eat at WCC before MNSSHP, but I've read that lunch is not as "animated" as dinner. Anyone been at lunch? Would you recommend it?
