It looks like VFL offered only their own appetizers (cheese and fruit plate, African-spiced nuts, and flatbreads with spreads) for quite awhile (the most recent DIS discussion I was able to find on VFL was pretty old). However, on June 25, '09, someone wrote the following review on the wdwinfo reviews section (http://reviews.wdwinfo.com/showproduct.php/product/1083/cat/429):
"A comfortable spot to enjoy a drink or a glass of African wine. The bar over looks Boma and at times can get noisy or busy as people wait for their seating at Boma or Jiko. Later in the evening it quiets dowm. It is not very large but the seating is comfortable. I like to arrive after 7:00, sit at the bar and have a glass of wine. You can order food off of the Jiko menu. Handy to know if you are dining alone or can not get reservations for Jikos!"
This makes it sound as if you can definitely order Jiko appetizers at VFL (and makes it clear the author's not getting VFL confused with the bar inside Jiko).
Anyone have any recent experience with VFL food, or lack thereof?
