Just been looking at the web site and surrounding hotels on sentosa island in Singapore. It's certainly changed since last time i was there. Anyone been? I know it's slightly Disney OT but keen to find out.

Hi Melbourne 5, yes I was there for a day in February. What would you like to know? :)

Is it a day trip? Or two days? Are you able to compare to universal Hollywood or the 2 in Orlando in terms of rides / shows / dining etc?

To me it is definitely only a 1-day trip and, to be honest, after having just visited Orlando Universal and IOA four months prior, it was a bit of a let down. It is more similar to Universal Orlando than Universal Hollywood in that is not a real operating studio so is all about the rides and show etc. It seemed smaller than Universal Orlando but they are probably still adding rides. I think it is great for Singapore to have competition to Hong Kong's Disneyland but I didn't think it was as good as the Orlando Universal. Also, it was soooo hot while were were there (which it normally is in Singapore) and I mean headache inducing heat which is not pleasant while touring a theme park. :crazy2: We toured the Orlando theme parks in Sept/Oct which was certianly very hot weather on some days but this was hotter!

In saying all this, if we took our children to Singapore again, we'd probably definitely take them to Universal for a theme park fix :rotfl2: And although I think it is only a 1-day park, Sentosa Island has a lot more to offer so you'd need another day there.

I was there last December and it is small by comparison to other parks. I arrived right on opening time and had ridden all the rides by Lunch some multiple times.the mummy ride is good as is the transformer ride,It was due to open a few days after my visit but they had a soft opening so got ride it several times.I left about 2pm as was flying that night home and since the park started filling up at 1pm.As it was a week day that i visited the park i can not help with weekend crowds but since shops a more crowded on weekends i imagine Universal would be the same. The Jurassic park ride in Singapore gets you drenched more so than LA.I was in Singapore for work so can not give you any information on how kids would like the rides,Although my DS15 did enjoy my phone calls from U S Singapore giving on the spot reviews of the rides:lmao:
