Anyone been to Trattoria del Porta in the Portofino bay hotel?

I just had a few questions,as I recieved my Orlando ent.book and there is a bogo free lunch/dinner coupon up to 16.00, I think we may eat dinner there. This seems like a pretty child friendly restuarant since the do have special entertainment( magican,ballonist). We will not be going on buffet night, anyone have any recommendations off the menu? Also is there a dress code,or do you see people dressed casual like they came from the parks? TIA

Had dinner and breakfast here a number of times. I didnt know the buffet dinner was certain nights now. It used to be daily.

The food is very good. I like the paintings on the pillars inside. When its nice out you can eat on the Piazza. They have a kids area for the little ones with a TV and coloring books, small tables and chairs. So the adults can relax and enjoy the meal.

I have had steak (really good) and the pasta buffet as well as breakfast and off the menu. Its always good.

Actually it's not a coupon from the book, you use the card and they mark it. I go every year when I am visiting the parks and use the entertainment card. I go at lunch and it's pretty much deserted during slow times but the food is always good. Makes for a nice break from the parks.

Don't worry about dress code. We have had breakfast and dinner there wearing what we wore to the parks. I think they might frown on sleeveless shirts on men, as does most fine dining restaurants at Universal. We have never experienced a crowd even on buffet/charactor night.
