i was just wondering if it was worth going to market street - where all the shops are - in disney's town of celebration - just for the afternoon.

is it any good?

thanks,

There are always some great reviews about it. I guess they go all out around the holiday's as well w/ decorations.

I have friends who live in Celebration, but I wouldn't visit otherwise. They have typical boutique shops etc. but I don't feel it is worth it to make the trip.

We love the shops and often have lunch at the restaurants by the lake.

Check out the Celebration PTA website. They have a disney liquidation sale at the high school once a year as a fund raiser. We were down there and saw the signs so we checked it out. UNBELEIVABLE prices!!! We got scrapbook kits (from the year before) for less than $5. Sweatshirts for $2-3. Everything was at least 75% off the original prices. Most of the stuff was dated the previous year, which worked out great for us since that was the year of the kids' first trip ( got a ton of dated frames and ornaments ). But they also had a ton of stuff without dates. Got some light up toys that just needed new batteries that the kids took to the parks the next night. I'm always checking to see when the next one is. We've even considered planning our vacation around the sale :earseek: !!

Go- nice shops- scenery -won't take a lot of your time- but nice walking around away from the parks. We were there this past July- teens didn't want to go- we insisted-saw ad for Jim Belushi concert- went back next night he put on a 2hr free outdoor show and we were right in front- kids never refused to do anything else rest of the 2 weeks we were there. If its something you want to do-just do it- wont take a lot of your time- good bakery/coffee shop and you can go in real estate sales office and check out a dream house

Come on a Sunday - the Farmer's Market is on Market Street. There will be lots to see.

:)

Just watch the speed limit - it's 25 mph but visitors tend to drive a little slower checking out the houses!!! ;)

We love the restaruants there. If you are making a trip out just to see the town, I suggest going around lunch or dinner time and stopping in for some food. They have a variety of options, Italian, Japanese, Columbian and just regular Cafe's we have never been disappointed in the food :)

thank you for all your replies.

how far is it from kissimmee?

thanks,

Depends on where in Kissimmee you are coming from, Kissimmee is rather large. It technically is "in" Kissimmee. It is right off of I-4 and Hwy 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway).
