We are planning a trip to Chicago and I see that the Lion King is playing there? Can anyone offer me any advice on seating at the Cadillac Palace Theatre? Also on buying tickets? IMHO the surcharge at Ticketmaster seems out of line. Any other advice would be welcome as well. We will be going end of June first of July. Thanks! :cool1:

DH & I went to see it last time it was in Chicago, a year or 2 ago. It is excellent! So worth every penny to see. We had front row off to the side....when you're that close and up to the side, its a little hard to see some things, but it didn't matter overall. Try to get center row, even if its further back. I'm not sure if you can order anywhere other than ticketmaster, thats where we got ours also...just check the seating map as youre looking at what tickets come up. I think all the seats are pretty good, its a beautiful theater too. Have a great time!

I agree that you need to stay on the main floor and center or as close to center as you can get. The show is absolutely spectacular. Have you tried getting tickets directly from the box office? Unfortunately, Ticketmaster is the main way most Chicagoans get their tickets for anything.

I hope you are able to go and see this beautiful show.

We sat in the balcony last summer and it was fine. The Cadallac Theatre is great, not a bad seat in the house. The show was good, costumes fantastic, and the special effects truely amazing( there is a star scene that is really well done). You really get a great view of them from the balcony angle. Ticketmaster is the worst thing to happen to live performances since the introduction of canned music. The service charges they charge (I think we paid $12 a ticket ) is highway robbery. You'll enjiy the show have fun.....TAZ

Thanks for the replies. I have to say planning a trip to Chicago makes Disney look cheap. But it will be fun.

We went to The Lion King a last year, and it was WONDERFUL. You will really enjoy it.

If you will be using public transportation, this website is great. It tells you exactly how to get to and from various landmarks by using public transportation (Cadillac Theater is listed as well as most of the downtown hotels).
