Anyone Been to The Holy Land Experience Recently?

I've found some information here about The Holy Land Experience but it's all from awhile back. We just passed by this place last week and never knew it even existed.
I am strangely intrigued by what I have read on their website and just wondering what those who have been recently think
The price is much less then any theme park in the area.
It looks very different and we are looking to do something different on our trip next month.

I'm not much help, as I've never been, but when I lived in Orlando I passed this all the time. It's super close to Disney. I was always very curious about it.

We visited it once last year because my friend wanted to see it.

I found the admission rather expensive for what they offered and thought the experience was rather strange.

It already started at the ticket booth when the cashier told us "Do not miss the cruxification, it is our top show!"

The park is really small and the main attractions are the shows and most are only shown once per day. Seating for those shows is pretty scarce.

There are some nice looking set pieces, where those shows take place, but most are roped off outside show times so you can't have a close look.

There was a model of Jerusalem of how it looked around the Year 0. Every hour or so, an achaeologist in Indiana Jones costume climbed onto the model and pointed out some historically significant places with a laser pointer. This was about the most interesting thing in this park.

Other than that it is mostly shops and counter service restaurants (of the worst theme park variety) and some nice, but rather kitschy landscaping.

The strangest thing to me is that they make The Last Supper Experience sound like it is a character meal ; no joke! It really has me wondering that.
I might HAVE to check this place out because it is just such a difference from the Disney.
