Anyone been to the Cape May Clam Bake Recently?

Has anyone been to cape may clam bake recently? I am having relatives visit and i have made ressies. Two of us(one being me) are not seafood eaters at all. Am wondering what the options are for non seafood people. have seen the menu online but would like real people's experiences.

I am a non-seafood eater and Cape May is one of my DH's favorites. they always have some type of carved beef, a pasta dish and chicken, plus the typical kids chicken fingers, mac and cheese and pizza. They also have a fantastic salad bar. I can always find plenty of non-seafood items that are good. Everyone talks about the desserts, which are good, but not as good as I excpected with all of the hype. I am sure I would not have been disappointed had I not had such high expectations. I would say go and enjoy.

Their chicken was tasty and they had good ribs. More of a sweet sauce, but still tender ribs. When we were there, they had two different carved meats - I think a roast beef and pork.

I agree the salad bar is really good, too. They are constantly refilling so it's all very fresh.

We have eaten at CM about 6 times and it has ranged from good to very good. Our last visit was about 3 weeks ago. Although it is themed as a clam bake it offers a good variety of meats and seafood. Salad bar is excellent. Great ribs, good barbecue chicken, very good carving station with pork loin and prime rib. They have recently added snow crab legs and fried calamari and removed some of the clam stations. They also serve two types of baked fish like salmon and cod. They also have a very good sausage with peppers and onions in a large skillet. For the kids ( & adults) chicken fingers, spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs and french fries. Great soups.

You will never see them run out of something or get food that has been sitting. Well run buffet. Everything is kept fresh and hot.

Now for the desserts. Most inconsistent part of the meal. They keep changing pastry chefs. The current one is excellent. Our prior trips not so good to great. Save some room at the end.

Well worth a trip and it is one of the least expensive buffets, if there is such a thing at DW.

We were at CM last month around 2/10. We paid $26.99 per adult minus our 20% table in wonderland discount. I doubled check the internet and found out that there are two prices. Regular price is $26.99. Holiday season price is $32.99. Were you there during a Holiday?? It was a nice surprise to have the all you can crab legs. They never let the pot run out.

I am allergic to ALL shellfish and not a fish eater( except for Tilapia or Flounder)..I found no problems with finding non-fish choices.In fact this is one of our favorite restaurants and the only one that likes seafood is my husband

I was a bit disappointed there wasn't MORE seafood options at a buffet claiming to have seafood. So, that being said you won't have any probs. finding non-seafood options and it was still good.

In Dec there were lots of non-seafood options, food was of good quality.

Not sure we'll be back unless staying in the resort area though. The buffet never seems to flow well for some reason, more peeps than usual this trip cutting line for 'just one thing'

We were there in July and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. I am a seafood LOVER and was hoping to be surrounded by all manner of sea-dwelling creatures, including soups, salads, etc. Instead it was a pretty generic buffet except for the clams and mussels.

I also agree with the lack of "flow" - the whole thing is a square and no one seemed sure where to start or end, so many people just jumped in and it seemed like a lot of reaching and grabbing.

That said, our service was awesome and my boys loved all the desserts, plus we had never been to this resort so it was a fun adventure overall. Overall, though, I don't think I'd make a point to go again.

I too was a little disappointed that there were not more seafood options on the buffet. I also agree with the line not moving very smoothly around it.

If you or the other person do not like the smell of seafood, I would recommend someplace else. I work with a lady that cannot only not stand seafood, she can't stand the smell of it. When someone brings fish to work for lunch, she basically has a fit right there. She can't believe that someone would be so rude as to bring fish to work. A little over the top, I know, but I just roll with it.

I've read several places that beverages are not included, I am talking about soda, not alcoholic drinks. All the other buffet menus say that the price includes non alcoholic drinks. I would be interested what someone who has been there can tell me! Thank you

A non alcholic beverage was included in December .

I checked my bill and it was a few days after the holiday pricing and they still charged me the holiday price of 32.99, my mistake I thought it was 36 dollars. We did question the waiter and he did not mention anything about holiday pricing but said the price was raised due to the crab legs being on the buffet. I should have know better. I always check all of these things before a trip.
