DH and I are thinking about planning a long weekend trip to Switzerland and I am looking for recomendations. I have only been through Switzerland on my way to Germany so I don't really know too much about it. We were thinking about going to Lugano and/or Interlachen based on what others have said, but we haven't decided for sure. So if you have any recomendations I would love to hear about them.

Thanks!

Love Zurich. DH was there when we were engaged for a year...had an exceptionally romantic christmas time there when I visited. 24 years ago this week.

I went to Interlachen

Wonderful place. Switzerland was just great. Clean and picture perfect, but EXPENSIVE.

However, the place I hear you should go to is Lucerne. It is on my list for next time.

I've been to all those places and they are all on a lake. They each have their own sights to see. As mentioned, Lucerne probably has the most to see. I would have gone back there this summer or last summer, but the tour I travel with said that it would be too expensive. It is especially expensive now that the dollar has reached an all time low against the Euro.

Loved Lucerne - lots to do and see, definitely go up to Mt Pilatus.
Beautiful scenery, great people who are multi lingual and great shopping!

Interlaken is a good choice! Be sure to go on a carriage ride throughout the town around sunset!...You should definetely try to check out the Junfrau...and pet the goats! lol the view from the mountain is spectacular! Oh and there's this restaurant that's on top of a mountain called the Schiltron..it revolves around so you can catch a glimpse of all the mountain range. Oh but don't be surprised if you can't find whre u were sitting at lol. The principality of Liechenstein is also a great place to visit. You can see the whole town on foot! It's wonderful! I hope you guys have a great time in Switzerland! Oh and one last thing..eat lots of truffles and ride lots of trains!!

We had a stop in Switzerland as part of an European tour. We stayed in the Lucerne area. If your are the the area go to Mount Titlis.

and bring back lots of Chocolate!!!!!

Lauterbrunnen. Right near Interlaken. When you wake in the morning you hear the waterfalls coming off the moutains and the cowbells in the background. One of my favorite places in the entire world!! and not at all touristy. have a great time. I'm greeen!!!!
