Anyone been to Rocking Horse Ranch in NY??

I think I am going to do this next summer anybody go this summer got a review???
I don't do horses I'm allergic so my kids never have the chance to do this type of stuff.

Have been there a few times and had a blast each time. My first trip was with my BFF and since we were both experienced riders the "stable guys" would go riding with us at night so we galloped our hearts out and had the time of our lives. Later on went as a family and the kids always had a blast.....again, they are all big riders so we really enjoyed that part most.

I haven't been there BUT my nieces & nephews loved it a few years ago & in May one of my friends had her twins there with the Girl Scouts and they loved it so much they are planning a long family weekend there in the near future.
I have never heard a bad thing! Go for it!

If you are looking for something upstate New York, a little cheaper than Rocking Horse, maybe you can try Pinegrove Dude Ranch. We've done that many times when kids were younger... small ski slope, horses, 3 meals a day. Indoor and outdoor pools. And if that food isn't enough, they have the "chuckwagon" open, for cheeseburgers and hotdogs, free of charge. They had daily bingo, shows at night and also kids camps... Paintball wars (which was additional fee)... I always loved it:goodvibes

We had one experience at RHR and it wasn't the place for us. If you have little ones, I guess it would be a better match. We left after one day. We're not the type to sit in the lobby in pj's and play board games, LOL!

We also got quite concerned when our electric kept going out and on calling the desk maintenence informed us that we couldn't blow dry our hair at the same time as the people across the hall. Now, if we were traveling with those across the hall, that would have been ok, but they weren't anyone we knew!! That peaked DH's safety concerns, so we chose to head home early.

In all fairness, this was about 7 years ago, so things may have been renovated since then. It just wasn't our cup of tea....but it did cement our decision to buy DVC! :)
