We are thinking of taking a quick trip to Knoebels, Pa. Anyone been??? Tips/suggestions?? What are the not to miss rides?? Food?? Snacks?? Any tips greatly appreciated. TIA:goodvibes

We were last there about 3 years agoand loved it.
It is such a clean and well kept park, and really has a mountain feel...It wasn't wall to wall concrete and people like many parks.
The best part is that there's no admission fee, it's pay as you go..with little kids, that was great...DH and I didn't have to pay to get in.
We thought the food was good, and reasonably priced too. They also had a picnic area so you can bring your own food too, if you have picky eaters or your budget is tight.
Have fun!!!

Been there MANY times...

The wooden coaster is great, I am told... I don't do coasters.

Knoebel's almost ALWAYS wins awards for best food at theme parks. They make GREAT pizza, and I'm not even a huge pizza fan.

I love Knoebel's because lines are short, and prices are quite reasonable... can do a whole day, with food for a family of 4 for about $100 or so.

Thanks guys. Thats what I hoping. Fun time for not alot of money. I always meant to check it out when we've gone to Hershey or Sesame Place but never did.

BTW, they now have a small water park. It does require a separate admission, I believe.

check to see if they still offer the wrist bands. If they do buy that instead of the tickets- if your kids will ride a lot. The wrist bands are for all you can ride.

Thanks PD I'll check it out.
Jen ~ Thanks I will check for wrist bands. I wonder if they do a 2day combo (park + water) ? BTW is your dog a Goldendoodle??

Yep she sure is and the sweetest dog ever too.

i was just there 2 weeks ago. We had a good time. The park was nice and not over priced. The camp ground was ok. We usually go camping 2 times a year at the shore. We go tent camping and I found Kanobles camp site to be just average. In fact i have stayed at way better camp sites in New jersey. Knobles camp sites r gravel, most of the ones I've been to r dirt/sand. ofcourse there r some sites at Knobles that r on a platform, which i thought was pretty cool, but my kids would definitly fall off the plateform. And of course the RV part is really nice. All in all I thought Knobles was a nice place but i wouldnt rush back. I live about 1 hr from there and i've heard so many people rave over it. Every1s diffrent I guess, have fun.

If you've gone before should you payone price or do the book of tickets??? My 3 boys are 7,4,4. My one 4 yr old will ride only a few rides. The other two will do rides but I'm not sure how many or how thrilling. I'm thinking buying a book of tickets might make more sense. What do you think???

We buy the tickets, but of course it is all based on how many and which rides you use. Some cost more tickets than others. Only you can figure out which is a better value for you.

We LOVE Knoebels!!! Great laid back atmosphere...great food....family atmosphere....very reasonable prices.

I remember reading a review of Knoebels which stated "Disney may make magic, but Knoebels IS magic".

The Phoenix Roller Coaster is so much fun....and consistently rates at the top of coaster enthusiast lists'.

They have a lot of older, classic rides which you'll find nowhere else. Don't miss the Rocket Slide, and if you have little kids, they'll love the hand cranked train cars. They have a lot of kid friendly rides.

When we were there, one of the screws came out of my glasses...I went to the park first aid station/park office to see if they could help. A guy behind the counter comes over and I tell him my problem. He reaches under the desk and pulls out a box of glasses they've found in the park. He then finds a screw which fit my glasses and helps me install the screw. The guy who helped me was a "Knoebel" and is the head man at the park his grandfather started many years ago.

Wish I was there now Phlying on the Phabulous Phoenix!!!

Been there 5 times this year... Going some time again this week... Tips/Suggestions? Take your time and relax ;) Food, Snacks... Oh the food is to die for... 100% better than disney food and much much much much less expensive! Rides... well we are still mostly in the "kiddie" sections but since our 7 yr old is now too big for most of those rides we've had to expand we still haven't worked up to the phoenix yet (plus she has a heart defect) but we have all done the skloosk (sp?), the log flume (yes even my 3 yr old). Its a GREAT family park... very reasonable rates, fun, not dirty, many many bathrooms around (big plus when ya got a bigger family and someone has to go every 5 minutes) never any lines longer than 20 min. Most of the time its 5 min or less. My kids LOVED the pool this year to be honest so did I, I've been going there since I was a kid (early 80's) and this was my first time in it! I live about 25min from there so its a cheap night out for us.. who know cheap and amusement park could go together huh? We usually go for bargain night on wed (over 48" 8.50 kids under 48" 6.50) and in total with food we spend about 45$. The kids get stamped and me and dh get a book of tix... me being VERY pregnant right now I don't do many rides ;) I actually wanted to go tonight, but dh nixed it... I'm kind of glad, we were out mini golfing today in 90* weather and I'm not feeling all that great.. blah.. Have a great time!

Thanks for the insight. I think I'll buy tickets. The kids are on the young side and my one 4 yr old isn't that into rides. I thought we'd do rides one day and the water park the next. Are there eating places in the water park??

I believe there is place to eat inside the water park but they weren't open when we were there. (we went for bargain night so it was after 6PM when we got there) it really doesn't matter most of the "good" food places are right near the pool anyway.

we simply love Knoebles. Adore it. It is a quaint park, very family oriented. All laid back people. If you are the rush rush, jump in line, get outta my way type person then this park is not for you. Knoebles is such a sweet little big park. You do not want to miss the Phoenix roller coaster. It has been rated in the top 10 of roller coaster in recent years. Also they have an old fashioned hauntedhouse so creepy but fun.

We were there a few years ago and we enjoyed it. It's a classic old fashioned park and it has a nice family atmosphere. I'd like to go back there again someday.

Knoebels is a great park! The wrist bands are sold on weekdays only. When my kids were little we just used the tickets and always had some left over that could be used the next time we went, they don't expire. The section for the little ones is mostly shady so that is very nice. There isn't exactly a water park, its a large pool and there are slides. You can check out knoebels.com for the rates. When we have bought food, we were able to leave it at the picnic area without any worries that anything would happen to it. We are going this Friday and I can't wait, always a good time.

Check out the website - I think it gives you the cost of the rides so you can try to decide which is better for you - tickets or a wristband. Also, if you buy tickets and don't use them all on rides, you can save them for another year or spend them on food.
