Anyone been to Italy?

We love ABC Tours and have traveled with them a number of times... including to Italy... we vistited Sorrento, Capri, Venice, Florence, Rome, and Stressa - a fantastic trip:p

Enjoy your trip!!

DH and i have been twicd in last three years. We spent two weeks each trip. I can't wait to return.

We do not do a tour. We rent a car the first week then use the trains the second week.

We visit the relatives who live in the mountains of Northern Tuscany. Then visit some of the small towns along the coast, and into the heart of the Tuscan Country. These are all small medieval towns, that serve the best food and wine I have ever been served. Not so small but still medieval is Siena. One of my favorites.

We turn our rental car in, then visit some of Italy's Cities. Rome love it, Florence another of my favorites, Venice beautiful beyond words, average food. A gondola ride is must. No matter what anyone tells you. My favorite part of Venice is Piazza San Marco at night.

Debbi I found the best Disney Store of all in Rome.

Yes, DH was/is on active duty. Our first tour to Naples was shore duty for 3 years, 2 months, then we moved up the road to Gaeta and DH was on the Sixth Fleet Flag Ship for 3 years, then we went back to the states (they wouldn't let us stay any longer) for 3 years and headed back to Verona for our final tour.

You live in Verona? I'm SO jealous. I lived there for 5 mos. and still miss it from time to time. DH was in the Army when we married (but almost done) and I begged him to re-enlist so we could live in Italy (Vicenza would have 'home,' but it's so colse to Verona and Venice that I could live with it.) He didn't want to, and it was his choice, so there you go. We still haven't managed to make it back there, but we will...
