Thinking of spending NYE 2002 at HH, following a week at BWV. I'm thinking it will give us a nice little break from the hectic holiday week as we head home. Does anything special take place, like fireworks or any type of party? Would love to hear from those who have been there! Thanks!

Also, for anyone that has been to HH on NYE, would you recommend sticking with my plan, or do you think we should just stay put at BWV for the entire 9 nights? We will have our 2 boys (11 & 13) with us, if that influences anyone's decision!:earsboy:

I'll be gone by NY but I'll be there over XMAS ( hopefully) So I'd appreciate any answers including the Xmas festivities as well.
Many Thanks

Hey Mooses
My girlfriend Jana's from Grove City PA and will be coming down as well, if you're there over Xmas be nice to meet up for a drink. If you lose my email ( or can't find a post on the US site) I'm easily found on the UK DIS site. It's http://www.wdwinfo.co.uk

I get the feeling HH will be pretty quiet over that time so we'll have to make our own entertainment. We all enjoyed the sunset dolphin spotting cruise when there April 2000 but I think wrapping up warm will be imperative as it was pretty chilly in April.

Same goes for anyone at HH over Xmas, be nice to have a DIS meet over the festivities.

Lets See florida in the winter hmmmmmmm. Can you say 70 75 every Day the sun is out. HH NC buuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sounds like a plan! We are hoping to get AP rates at HH for a 3 day stay over Christmas. That would be fun.

OK, jonb, I see what you're getting at! Keep in mind, I'm not asking if I should go to HH or WDW over Christmas, I'm just asking about NYE and NY day. I will have already spent the entire week in Florida! I know it will be chilly, but is there enough going on that would make it worth my while to leave WDW and spend a few relaxing days at HH? Or will I regret not having stayed at WDW; we have never been to WDW at Christmas or NYE. I have never been to HH either, but am hoping to get there sometime soon (before the 2002 trip!). I'm actually starting to lean toward 9 nights at BWV and skipping HH altogether, but I still can't decide.

We were at Hilton Head last Christmas and would like to be there again this year. I hope Member Services responds to my Email reservation request today!! (I sent it to them on Tuesday..they must be overwhelmed).

Christmas at Hilton Head is VERY quiet. Last year is was COLD!. My kids did venture into the resport pool a couple of times...It was heated..but you froze when you got out. On Christmas eve, there is this great outdoor nativity pagent that is held at Sea Pines...with singing, music, live animals. Everyone gets candles to light. Singing Christmas carols under the stars on Christmas eve is a wonderful thing!

We spent the 5 days we were there really just chilling out...rented bikes and rode a lot (no problem about being too hot!). There is a new skateboard park that just opened if your kids are interested in that (mine is, but didn't bring his skateboard). For Christmas we opened presents, went to Church, ate a homemade dinner and went to the movies in the afternoon (102 Dalmations of course!).

I hope we get to go again this year.
