I went through most of the menus and their pics and Flying Fish really caught my eye. Has anyone had dinner there? If so what are you thoughts, feelings, opinions, etc.? Favorite dish and dessert? And any pics would be even better!!! Thank you in advance. popcorn::

It's hard to make recommendations on Flying Fish's menu. Things change with the season and availability of fresh fish so you never know what's still going to be around. There are some menu staples that will always be there, catch willing: The crab cakes are amazing and I could eat that Potato Wrapped Snapper everyday.
Try any of the seasonal items, your server can help you root them out. Personally, I can't get enough of Chef Tim's soups. That is really his specialty. I'm not really a "take pictures of food" kind of guy but I certainly can give two thumbs up to anything this superlative kitchen puts out.

Another vote for the snapper although everyone has loved everything we've ordered there.

Love the champagne flight!

The 5 of us ordered 5 different entrees....all proclaimed GREAT!!! Great service, great apps, great wine....we loved it.

It was the best meal on our last trip. Of course the little ones went to the Sandcastle club for the evening maybe that had something to do with it:rotfl2:

I absolutley love the Flying Fish! I normally order the snapper and it is to die for.

Sort of funny but i have a CEO who is very anti Disney. We were in the area and I booked us dinner there. He went and absolutely raved about the food. I was embarassed though because he told the waiter "this is actually really good i can't believe it, I would come here again". :rolleyes1

They have a wonderful wine selection as well.

What if you don't like fish? I am planning on going here for my future DH on the honeymoon who loves seafood but I don't, will i find something other than steak?

Maybe, maybe not. I've seen short ribs on the menu. I've also seen pork. The menu changes, sometimes daily. There are a few menu items (crab cake app, mussels app, snapper, scallops, steak) which never seem to come off the menu. Everything else is subject to change.

The steak is very good but if you don't want that or seafood, this isn't the place to go.

Flying Fish was a fun place to eat, and the food was good, but neither of us would order what we got again. I know people swear by their steak, but I just feel weird not ordering fish! :upsidedow

Some sorta cioppino

Thank you, being from MD I have high expectations of a Crab Cake, lol. Sounds very yummy. Anything fresh works for me.:yay:

Thanks for the photos also!

We ate at Flying Fish last Saturday night and it was amazing! :cool1:

My son had the cream of asparagus soup. We don't eat shellfish and Chef Anthony was happy to omit the lobster garnish. The rest of the soup is totally vegetarian. It was out of this world. My DS said he'd go back just for the soup! :thumbsup2

I had the caprese salad appetizer and it was beyond delicious. The fresh mozzarella melted in my mouth, the tomatoes were succulent without being too soft, and the 8-year-old balsamic dressing was just the right level of sweetness. Yum! I had a wonderful caprese the night before at Spoodles, but the Flying Fish version was on a whole other level!

My son had the snapper but with a garlic dressing. (The usual wine sauce is made with veal stock which we don't eat, so Chef Anthony suggested the substitution.) The fish literally melted in your mouth. Soft and so flavorful!

I had the Ligurian Trofie Pasta Dumplings (vegetarian entree) and it was fantastic. The chantrelle mushrooms were so rich in flavor. The portion was huge!

We shared the Warm Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bread Pudding for dessert. I am not a fan of bread pudding but the consistency was more like a super moist chocolate cake and I really liked it. I loved the banana brittle accompaniment.

The service was excellent. We enjoyed the bread so much -- sort of a multi-grain rye -- that I asked for a couple of pieces to take out. They were happy to oblige so I also ended up with a great bread and butter for breakfast the next morning.

The restaurant is very pretty, relaxing atmosphere, and then you're steps away from the nightlife on the Boardwalk.

Overall, an excellent evening! :thumbsup2
