Anyone been to Cypress Gardens recently?

I hope this is the right forum for this question. We're thinking of going to Cypress Gardens next week (4 adults). Has anyone been there recently? I went about 10yrs ago, but I hear it has changed (new ownership maybe?). Any touring tips or must sees would be great. Thanks for any help!

It's closed. They closed before Christmas and are planning another re opening in March I think.

I just checked on www.cypressgardens.com and they are hoping to re-open in March, but are reworking parts of the park due to financial issues.

You could always drive to Busch Gardens in Tampa.

It's not looking too good for Cypress Gardens,they're selling most if not all of their rides,closing the park until like March and supposedly expanding their waterpark but from what I've heard no work has actually been done.I remember visiting about 2 years ago and thinking the place was a nice little park to complement the major Central Fla parks,but now I don't know what's happening.

Would anyone happen to have any suggestions of another place we could visit? We did Busch Gardens last year (and go to Disney and Universal a lot). We're 4 adults, with 2 of them in their 60's. We're just looking for a fun, relaxing day somewhere with some entertainment of some kind.

Its about 90 mins north west of Orlando in Ocala.

Open weekends, not always open mid week so check the website.

You can do it all easily in one day. Very Mom and Pop style. Friendly with much less hussle and bussle.
